"I’m falling down into my shadow, holding my breath" Naruto loses control of himself during Pain's invasion.
"Awaiting that deadly night" if he goes forward with removing the seal, the only expectation would be a repeat of the night 16 years ago. But instead, maybe Pain might be defeated.
Kurama says "don't be scared" but it’s still slightly aggressive because they don’t have a good relationship yet. " Cause it can show in your eyes" Naruto's eyes look dead, having lost his confidence and hope, revealing his fear that he can't defeat Pain.
Kurama says "see you in your dreams, even if it is a nightmare," which, if Naruto submits to the possessions, he likely would go into a sleeping state like Gaara did, and although "asleep" he still can't escape the nightmare he is living in.
So the next part is nicer in a ruthless I’ll beat them up way. Kurama mentioned he was jealous of the toads and Hinata and Konoha were safe as Pain was led away from them, and Naruto himself commented on Kurama giving him chakra during the fight. He has grown fond of Naruto, deep inside. "Fairy blue," well I like to think Naruto's eyes and how a fairy is quick and light and magical, and Naruto's got some of that magic when he speaks to people, tries to make promises, like wishes come true. (Bring Sasuke back, change the hyugga, defeat pain, find and bring peace in shinobi world)
"I'll smash the stars for you" Kurama will destroy Pain, is what I interpreted it as, but stars are like wishes. Or goals maybe. Feel like that one is an interesting complex one, lots of ways to think about it. One thought is he will destroy pain, thus bringing Naruto closer to his goal of finding peace.
"When you are lost here I am" - this is sweet yet not nice at first, because in the beginning Kurama intended to prey on Naruto's weakness, good intentions inside or not, he acted like the predator. (I think it was partially in act, but Kurama still had lot of anger inside, before Naruto said he'd be there for him too)
'forever' with your soul" Reminding that he is always with Naruto, as first in an ominous tone as a wrathful presence, a reminder of the relationship as bijuu and host, but underneath an invitation that he will support him and help him because they are stuck together.
"If you believe" - Kurama wants Naruto to return to his former self, believing in others and in himself. And he wants Naruto to believe in him too, that he's not a demon, that he wants to be friends.
sorry for the flood of text but, it was very fun writing this out. do you think Kurama and Naruto too? I think it fits their changing dynamic really well in a cool way.
@@sonny1524 Huh. Never thought about it like that. I'll admit, I can't really speak much about Naruto since I haven't really followed it since I was 10 years old. Haven't really finished it and never got to that part where Naruto and the fox start to make nice to each other, only heard about it online. I suppose you could interpret it that way. I always just thought this song is a back and forth between Maka and Soul and Chrona. It fits all three of them well.
