Friendly people, no traffic, no love bugs, four seasons, freshwater lakes everywhere and plenty of recreation. We are outdoors now more than we ever were in Florida.

As someone who has lived in Lansing for 20 years, and has visited family in Saginaw plenty of times, this video doesnt exactly highlight a lot of the negatives that come with a lot of these cities, like with Saginaw, the economy is not great at all and it left a lot of the buildings abandoned, and with Lansing, I love my hometown, but there really isnt much to do besides going to bars. East Lansing is a lot better but it still has similar issues, if you're legitimately considering moving to Michigan, as you'll see with a lot of these commenters, Grand Rapids is a very nice place to live, same with most of the suburbs of Detroit, just be prepared for heavy traffic anywhere in that area

Do you happen to know if Ferndale would be a nice livable place for average single people (without families)? How is public transportation over there? Is getting around town gonna be OK even like for people who don't own a car? I am on a fixed income, and do not plan on commuting to Detroit much. I just wanna live in a nice safe quiet neighborhood all alone by myself, that is within close proximity to basic amenities like grocery shopping, general stores, and public transportation. Absolutely DO NOT plan on raising a family anytime soon. Looking to rent or possibly buy a small home there. What is your advice or opinion on this? 🤔

@@OtomoTenzi Ferndale is in Royal Oak, but to my knowledge, and from what I’ve seen, public transportation isn’t the best in counties like Oakland, since they’re an extremely suburban part of Detroit. Downtown Detroit is really the only place in Michigan that has very good public transportation. If you want to live somewhere quiet and near a lot of stuff, I’d suggest Owasso. Very affordable living there, and they have a lot of stores/food places and a decently large downtown area for a small town. Id say it’s about 45 mins to an hour from Detroit and 40 minutes from Lansing, only downside is there’s prob not any good public transportation

Traverse City - (pronounced Trav-erse City) is fantastic - I made the move during the pandemic. Yes, it is expensive to live in the "city", which is only 8 square miles with population of 15,000. The good news is that is less expensive outside the city limits with Grand Traverse (Trav-erse) County having a population over 100,000 people. Year round recreation including swimming, boating, biking, skiing, golfing and more. With great schools, miles of beaches, fantastic restaurants, festivals, wineries, shopping, microbreweries, an abundance of lodging options, distilleries, entertainment, lighthouses, Sleeping Bear Dunes - there's something for everyone. There's even an airport with convenient flights. An amazing place to live, work, play, or just vacation. Come visit, and you may never want to leave!

Based on your criteria, you should consider Ferndale. A very walkable town with public transportation. Over the last decade, it has become very trendy and pride-friendly with resulting economic development. As such, the expected increase in home values has occurred. The average Ferndale home value is $242,000. Neighboring Hazel Park is beginning to follow suit but their cost of living is easier with average home prices of only $160,000. It's easy in both towns to determine best and worst places to live.

Please check pronunciation -- and not by listening to other CZcams videos. It's Musk-EE-gun, not MUSK-e-gon. And TRA-verse rhymes with "flat purse" -- for both the city and the bay. Also, Meijer sounds like Meyer -- and the garden is named for the family that owns the grocery store chain...the family of Peter Meijer, member of Congress from 2020 to 2022.

I grew up in Saginaw. At one time it was a great town. Then GM closed the four major factories and the town died. Gang warfare broke out, mostly on the east side and southeast part of town but it also spread over to the west side. I got out of that town and I'll never go back. I know people who still live there and they tell me nothing's improved. I stopped watching this video at that point because I figured the rest would just as much BS.

@@ericrivera8410 I'm sure that was exciting but how was your daily life affected by those brief interactions? Suburban or rural towns enjoy the fact that we don't have to put our lives at risk every day and don't panic that everything we own may be taken from us. We'll take peace, safety and nice people over your cheap thrills.

It is pronounced Musk -EE- gun. Accent is on the second syllable. Traverse city is pronounced TRAV-erse city, accent on the first

the cities and towns you are talking about.
