Couldn’t agree more
Well said sir..I just remarked the same to my wife. Her parents should be super proud of her...
Good to see you’re enjoying it and feel what you are doing is well paid etc. keep it up and smile :)
Great video Bry, just discovered your channel. Fellow Brit living in Australia these past 10yrs . Nice to see a bit of Uk country side which I miss.
Keep up these great videos . Looks like a pretty good job doing parcel delivery.
You had alot of parcels crammed in your little Pergeot . Ding you find it hard to find each parcel
Great work Bry. Good luck with your uni work!
Definately make this into a series. Very interesting to see it through your eyes 🙂👍
Great video, I am a builder but getting older so this job looks a great alternative, I don’t need a lot of money £200 a week would pay for my food and bills so this is definitely a job I will consider, thanks for posting the video 👍
I’m so grateful to #Leachtech for helping me reactivate my deactivated account. I had lost all hope of getting my account back until I he was recommend by a friend. He’s such a genius.

Wish you every success . good luck with uni.
Wish more young people were like you.!!!
There are plenty of hard working young people, you just see other types when you are lining up at the job center Job Masih
This & the previous video on delivering are really useful to provide an idea on what this job is like. Thanks
i worked there at the start of the pandemic to december last year and i would say the pay is decent. People just don’t realise with that job you have to do a lot of parcels to make good money from it. So many people i saw come and go because they can’t stick to it and think it’s great money from the get go! Especially if you are living from that wage you have to be mindful that the volumes can change so you have to find extra rounds to do to make up the numbers, which a lot of people don’t do because they don’t want to learn a new area (generally speaking). But if you’re doing it for a bit of extra money i’d say it’s definitely worth it, i loved it and it’s nice to see someone else who enjoys it☺️
Everyone hates on hermes but i’ve had rubbish delivery services from all the companies, i personally think it’s boils down to the individual who’s doing the delivering and not the company as whole!
How many parcels on average can you do up to in a day? And what insurance do you need if you don’t mind me asking?
ps ..yes would love to see more delivery vids (esp the packing and scanning and how you pack your car : )
Absolutely brilliant video young lady. Enjoyed it a lot. I've been thinking about doing it part time..thanks again.
Hi, your videos are very motivating :) I've booked my first few cover rounds from the app. I'm worried about organising the parcels in my car, what do you mean by post codes? Since I've requested my rounds through the app, I'm I going to get average parcels like people who have fixed days? I did ask for fixed days but no thing has been said yet :(
Your a very hard working young lady
Great role model for all
Thank You 😊 😊
Thanks for the video.. i actually watched it throughout without skipping. Very informative thanks
I have worked for both Hermes and Yodel I honestly do miss those PayCheques and miss meeting new people along the journey... All the best
I applied to Yodel and they didn't get back to me in 10 days so now I applied to Evri (Hermes). If Yodel recruitment/Customer service is that bad I'm not interested.
Brilliant work & a good inspiration for uni students.Keep it up👍
....and bless you for sharing your lunch break with us : ) I would have NOMD that burger first hahahaha xx
Got your video as a recco and very interesting I like your work ethic.Just one thing I would cover the parcels with a sheet etc to keep the prying eyes away.
Great video, really enjoyable to watch
Some say you don't earn much is because it's your own car and everything, so fuel costs are yours, car maintenance costs is yours and then insurance as you need special delivery insurance etc etc..
I watched with interest as been a boring old pensioner and sick of been indoors I want to try this to get me out, but, to many for me and and my aygo is really small but I'll look for something else. Well done anyway in what you do 👏👍
Tom.
If you only want a small round with a few parcels the depot will definitely cater to your wants/needs! I like getting a car full for the money but they will always listen if I said I wanted more or less and I can pick as little or as often to when I want to work! :) They always need people to deliver small amounts of parcels that another delivery driver couldn't fit into there car etc!
A small point, you don’t have to drive your own car which needs extra business insurance, repairing, maintaining, fuelling, tyres and brakes as a waitress and a fitness trainer.
Not a big issue at all
But as a self employed person you can put those costs though your books, so, swings and roundabouts.
It is about 30 miles a block for me. Not bad at all really
Evri provides you an additional coverage on top of your current one
thanks for these videos I'm starting with evri/Hermes in two days and didn't know what to expect
How’d it go? I’m starting next week
@@mister.c4631 didn't do it for long as there was no money in it
You have a great work ethic young lady 👏 keep up the good work your go a long way Happy New year take care and stay safe
If only more young people had your attitude to work!, good job young lady 👏
Very informative thanks..what happens if somebody isnt in to recieve their parcel?
Sorry if I've missed it
You've also got to take in the cost of more ware and tare on your vehicle, fuel etc
Very switched on young lady. Your parents must be proud. Well done, you'll go far in life.
Hi Bry - Me again : ) Could you pleasedo a video on how you scan and pack car? ie what works best for you? thanks J
Your videos have been so informative thank you so much. Do you think it would be a good job as full time?
The pay sounds more but its to cover the cost of the car. Even if they paid for the fuel, there is increased insurance, depreciation and there is also inflation
I used to work for Hermes and they do destroy your soul after some time. However I feel like you've got it really good and sounds like you have a good manager. You've also got a better work ethic than most people I know too. I believe what people mean by you make no money doesn't really apply to you right now. As you do this part time and it's not your main focus. For me I worked 6 days a week every week only get Xmas, Boxing, New Year's day and the odd bank holiday off which always resulted in double the amount of parcels coming through. I made decent money. 4 to 5 thousand a month but I burned out and managers were not accommodating in the slightest. You're lucky that you get to pick your shifts. I think you should stick at it for the time being but not forever. I'm glad I'm out of it. I got so burnt out that I phoned in sick for the first ever time in the years that I was there working and they sacked me for it. But I'm in a much better place now. But more power to you for having more control over how they treat you.
first off well done for looking and doing a job, Don't know if anyone has said it before but do you have " Hire and Reward " insurance !! you can have your car compounded if not also not sure about using a car with parcels to the roof pretty sure you'll get points on your licence if you get pulled , so not hate but check how you stand legally may not end well if you get into a scrape ...* )
Bry I’m interested to know what your little car does to the gallon knocking around?
Hi ya just check out your view and info on hermes, as an amazon flex driver I think I am switching to hermes , because amazon's far out routes can be tiresome. Theres no bonus what so ever.
I’ve just signed up as a cover courier, on the app when I look at available rounds how can I tell how many parcels I’ll be given on the round? It only says which postcodes will be covered. I want to know obviously the number of parcels to determine the pay for the round. Please let me know! Thanks for the video
Can I ask you, what happens when you go to deliver a parcel but the person ain't in? how do you get around that? do you place the parcel somewhere safe or do you have to waste your own time to come back again?
worked with hermes for 26 years until about 3 years ago when they brought in sunday working I wouldnt do as I was self employed christmas was a nightmare I used to get between 200 to 300 parcels a day but used to hire a van as i was on a good parcel rate all i can say is make sure your rate is over a £1 per parcel and 1.50 per bulk but what your telling us your on the lower rate
So useful thanks so much 👍
Interesting video. Do you have to pay goods insurance as you’re using your vehicle for business. And do you have to do your own tax?
Great video! I have to have school holidays off to be with my son can you take holidays off then work again when it suits you?
Hi
Good to see u’re making this vedio
I would like to request can u make vedio on how to you make route plan and put stuff as order
I am also new delivery driver but i struggle a bit
Tq
Well done girl ! 😊👍👍
very informative for someone (like) me who is considering doing some delivering. Thanks. I wonder if you are still doing delivery
Good for you. Well done.
So what happens to the parcels that are undeliverable? E.g. nobody in, or not able to find address? They go back to depot?
I just wondered how much the insurance cover on your car increased using it for business use .
You’re a breath of fresh air lass.
Great video, very useful as well! Could you tell us what's your average mileage per day?
Hi can you please let me know what the extra insurance requirements are and what it costs, the job seems ideal for what I could do in the near future.
Thanks Paul.
Loving the videos. Do you work for Uber Eats & deliveroo?
I see you never showed the drivers unload the lorries and sort the parcels into the cages working for free. It happened at my depot which took around an hour before scanning my parcels and thats why i left and it was 65p a parcel for me without any bonuses.
Thanks for the video. I just started with evri and really enjoying the work. Just wanted to know in which day on the month you normal get paid? also how are you sorting your parcels before loading them in to the car? Thanks
I’ve been doing it two years if you know what way your going sort them out into the road order you deliver them don’t matter house number unless it’s raining
Great video, love your positive attitude and it seems like a great way for young people to earn a few extra quid if you love driving (who doesn't). Yes there may be extra costs (a quick google search will tell you that the top up insurance is only 55p a day with Hermes) but if you love it do it and ignore all the negative comments on here from old farts like me and do what you enjoy....my son is 20 and we renovate houses together - this would be great for him to do between houses....not sure how many parcels he could fit in his Ferrari though (joking)!
I've just applied and I'm due to start my first shift on Friday. Can't wait
How was it? I wanna apply too but I'm not sure as people are saying bad things about it and the pay
How was your shift? Are you still delivering?
@@fishing-gardening-travelling personally i quit, it was so bad and the pay was awful, i got like 25 quid for a whole days work its not worth it when u factor in fuel and wear and tear on your car
@@rauleeto409 £25 isn't a lot. Do they pay £1 per delivery?
@@fishing-gardening-travelling nope it's much less than that, it was about 50p or less per delivery and i had alot of big parcels too!!
Don't.forget to do your parcel band changes you also get £10 extra for changing your parcel band
I did one day and it was so bad I quit🤣 but i'm glad it is enjoyable for you!
Why was it bad for you?
@@ttube111 i'm not a girl? and it actually wasn't hard work tbh, it's just low pay and u have to cover all your own costs, it just didn't make sense for me financially but thx for assuming u know about my life!
Well done you! 👏
Nice video I'm thinking of applying 🤔 x
Bryony, missing your uploads!🤣
I have been looking for a job that fits into my mum life with my kids and i have applied on Hermes as a courier delivery driver. Your video is very thorough and helped me so much. Great video and new subscriber here. I have a question, do Hermes pay weekly wage or monthly wage? I cant wait to start. Keep up your videos. Xx
Did you take up the job?
I might be starting soon at Royal Mail have you got any tips for me for packing in the packages in post code order any tips to make it neat and easy and quicker? I have major anxiety now in worring about this stupid things haha
Great video, thank you.
Good for you. More delivery videos😊
How much extra do you pay on top of your car insurance for carrying parcels
You've got a great attitude to life, well done for being a grafter, unlike a lot of people nowadays who want to sit on their backsides and get paid for it!
lmao ty for paying my bills for me my guy, currently lying to benefit office lmao
I work for amazon and would you say its better wage . Is hermes reliable on work meaning if you day your available certain days do they have you work or standby
I'm thinking about doing this for some extra money, can I ask you about vehicle insurance? Do you have to get courier insurance?
Hi great video 👍 sorry can I asking how much you get monthly or weekly please ? Thank you
can you do a video on how to sort the parcels? i always sort them then end up having to spend ages finding them... i only do 10-14 parcels an hour as well...
Do you have to change your car insurance over to business insurance
Well done. Kind regards from Bonnie Scotland 🏴
What if u can’t fit them all in the car do u need todo two runs loll , good for you love I will definitely consider this as a side hustle when kids are in school & nursery xx
Not everyone gets paid what you get paid. I get 49p for packets which are 75% of the parcels and 65p for standard. You don't get paid for non deliveries and you don't get paid for picking them up and scanning them in either which can take a while.
Yours is the best case scenario.
I agree, personally think she's got lucky (maybe a manager took like to her) i never got above 50p for a parcel even large parcels and after fuel etc wasn't worth it.
Hi really enjoyed your videos and love your positivity and work ethic but wondered how your car insurance is affected by business use? You've not mentioned it in the 2 videos I've seen and am worried about you not being aware of it. Take care. Steve 👍
I mentioned insurance in this video! I said the fact I work for Hermes affects it a tiny amount, but still very cheap and affordable as I have a small old car and no claims :)
I've been doing hermes 9 years now and like any job there are good and bad sides to the job in the 9 years I've been there things have changed some good and bad the company is out to make money like any Company but the main things you have to watch with hermes is say your ill its your problem to find cover and if u can't find cover you have double volume next day plus a warning, another thing check the amount of packets and standard parcels you get because they send a higher amount of packets when they are standard so they don't have to pay you as much but you can upgrade them on couriers online, i do 2 rounds as its my full time job so I'm out a good 7-8 hours a day so if u like driving, delivering parcels then its good job to have
Hey mate, I'm currently looking into working for hermes but I'm worried about wear and tear on the car I'll be driving. You've been doing it for 9 years so thought I'd ask how many cars you've beeb through since working for hermes? It's literally the only thing putting me off at the moment 😄
@Spiritual Jay hi mate, in 9 years I've been through 5 cars, currently using a van which is on the way out, tbh mate if your on a lower paying round the less wear and tear you'll have, the higher paying round the more the damage but it's what's best for you I do 2 rural rounds and wouldn't change it for the world but you may happier doing a town round, less mileage no wear and tear but you won't earn as much money so its whatever suits you maze
As you are classed as self employed and you get your cheque, you will have to pay income tax/national insurance out of that 800 pd surely so the question is do you and how much is that in total, for the size of your car I would say 1 pd a mile that be petrol/wear and tear if you where working for a company that pay travelling expense that is the way it is worked out
You don't pay tax on that unless she earns more than ROUGHLY £13000 in the tax year.
Great Vlog do you need Business insurance for your car and are you classed as self employed cheers
After you finished your round do u have to go back to depot or you can go home
Do you get payed for scanning, sorting loading up in the morning?
Do you have to pay for your own car insurance as in Using her for business ?
How do you go about covering for holidays
Hey have you got any tips iam new delivery driver started yesterday at Evri so thanks your videos were useful to me as well
I think people think by the time you take off tax, NI. Fuel, and insurance as you need commercial insurance. Then the money is not that good. What do you think?? Great video thank you 👏👏👍👍
You mean road tax right? She probably doesn’t reach the 12,500 income tax threshold.
Her NI contribution will be very low.
If you put it this way, anyone pays for insurance, Road tax, MOT etc for their car. She is just paying for her private and work vehicle at the same time.
So really she’s not paying much more than any worker who doesn’t use their car for work purposes. This is beneficial to her since she is driving such an old, small car which has low value.
Driving a 3 year old Honda, or Mercedes different matter.
I know people who drive for Evri now and they all have pretty old cars. You can’t have a new, expensive car, since you’re adding too much mileage and adding to wear and tear. Now high fuel costs too.
Overall, this job is good for her situation as 20 year old student, but it’s not a sustainable job to live off beyond that. You will have to deliver 150-200 parcels a day to make a liveable income.
A lot of the burden is on the driver themselves at Evri, compared to Tesco and Waitrose drivers that just do the safe driving and get the van with reverse cameras, uniform, sat nav, insurance coverage, paid hourly regardless, everything.
Argos or supermarket driver best delivery job.
Though these driver jobs are more time pressured and companies expect much higher service quality.
Hello Bry! I am thinking to try Hermes delivery and i would like to ask you some questions!
How many parcels did you have in your car and how much money did you make with these parcels?
And secondly do you think if a lease a van this would be a good job to do it full time??
Hi, I work for hermes the answer to your question is depending on the round you have and how big the area is will dictate how many you have, I've done both rented and owned and my honest opinion is to have your own van leasing costs too much, if you have a van hermes will give you a bigger round as you've got a van on average you have 50-60 per round so 2 rounds 100-120 a day you can do more if you wish but just to give you some insight to the job
You get £25 just working Sundays. Good for you. As for me, I'm doing food delivery similar to Deliveroo/Uber Eats - And for me just to get at least 250 ringgit(MYR), I've to complete hundreds of orders first.
Great vid!! Is it weekly pay may I ask?
Monthly
Can you plz make a video on how to apply
Hi, I'm wondering when the parcels are brought out in the trolleys for loading, When you scan each parcel do hermes have an app that puts them in order for you and that plans your route for you? Or do you have to type all the addresses into maps?
Great video btw, don't listen to the negative people lol if you're enjoying your job then stick at it 👍👍
On the app you are able to place them in postcode order, or if you have done the route before you scan them in the order that you wish to deliver them
@@Fieldy968 cheers mate appreciate the reply👍👍 assuming you work there, how do you rate it?
@@pumpcityy113 For new starters, i would highly recommend getting told what parcel rate you are getting before starting. In our depo we have had people work a full month after being told they where on 90p+ per parcel to find out they where getting 50p
@@Fieldy968 thanks for the heads up mate, I didn't know there was that much of difference in rate. Appreciate it mate👍
@@Fieldy968 holy scammers
I think this job depends on the part of the country you are in and the depot.
NIce to see yours so enthusiastic and posted on your other video.
Are you earning enough to fix your car if your engine blows up tomorrow?
Yup I’m earning enough to buy a whole new car if I had to :)
Saving to move out first 😆
Naa I doubt if the engine blows up loads of standards under packets lool especially those Xmas trees 🤣🤣
Compared to Amazon Flex, the pay seems very low for the amount of work. I get around £20 an hour and wont work for less.
Amazon isn't guaranteed and only limited to 24 hours a week.
U must have a rural round u get paid more I worked there for 5 years and my rate was 47p a pkt so its bad and I got 32p for a postable u do get 62p for std parcels but only get 15% of std u get paid weekly for ur first 6 weeks then goes monthly it is good money if u are a student as would only get £6 an hour if employed
Hi I got a new question if I want to do a round how to I let them know and how can I book a round thought marketplace
Please let me know as I am stuck and I have asked my manager how to do this he didn’t answer
Also can you tell how to add a break on the app because I’ve asked my previous manager but didn’t bother to show me
I've worked for Hermes for over four years and don't get the figures you say you get. For a packet small) I get 47p, a standard gives me 62p and a postable is 37p. Also - if you pay it, you got to take into account your tax and national insurance, which on my figures and as you are classed as self employed you might be liable for.
I wouldn't have worked there for 4 years on those numbers!! Do you even make a profit?! I don't understand how you are payed so low 🥺 That can't be right!
true, ive just joined a contractor for hermes paying £1 a parcel. but previoulsy i was on about 65p average
Maybe she's doing villages and country sides that's why it's more try doing parcel band change you'll get an extra £300😀
Are you with GMB you should have you rates upped like. 73p for standard
You must be in city for those terrible rates..I'm in town/rural and get 95p parcel 1.05 standard...bit there is se plus which is even more criminal...Hermes try shafting ya every way...but still a good wage not complaining
Don’t you have to put a tax return in tho as your classed as self employed?
i suppose depending on the car you own how much you lose for fuel big car bigger fuel bill old car more maintanence or new car less money for maintenence
Can you not claim expenses for fuel from government?
How much did your car insurance go up when you declared to your insurance company you are using your car for work?
Do you have business insurance on your car
How did you find your job and what about paying taxes etc.....good info videos
