I think you made a really good point about how Pereira throws his short counters with so much power and no windup. Hill definitely has a shot but hes gonna have to stand right in front of Alex and thats super dangerous
If Hill had more consistent one punch ko power id say hes the favorite here but ya Alex is wayyy to dangerous with the counters
hill is worse than adesanya

Bro Jamahal has one of the best chins in LHW
Skill wise I agree that Pereira is better than Hill. However Pereira will be almost 37 by the time they fight as has seemed to be a little bit slower at 205 pounds. Jamahal's hand speed is as fast as Izzy yet he also hits much harder. This fight isn't as one sided as people are making it out to be.
His power is pretty overrated imo. He ko’d Johnny Walker, who’s been ko’d plenty of times.
idk man glover said like 1 year ago that jiri hits harder than jamahal
37 at 205 isn't the same as 37 at the lower weight classes, I think Pereira is still in his prime.

@@JohnJoatan …and Jimmy crute, osp, santos…
I'm a massive Poatan fan and though I think he'll win, I definitely don't believe - even in the slightest, that Hill will be an easy fight for him. In fact I think Hill will prolly be the most difficult opponent for Alex since he fought Izzy, the dude's no joke. I do think Hill's over-confident, but he did absolutely pummel Glover, and if Hill's not hampered a whole lot from his recent Achilles tendon injury, it should be a fucking phenomenal fight.
If Hill didn't get knocked out by Paul Craig just a few fights ago, it would be even easier for most to see him as the legitimate challenge that he is.
@@vanhattfield8292he got tkod and his arm got messed up
Pereira got knocked out too tho and fought prochazka and blachowicz.
@paulncr - Not only did Alex get flat=lined KO'd in that Izzy rematch, (sadly), it was also the first time ever getting ko'd like that. Not once in his kick-boxing career did ever get sent to the shadow-realm, nor in his short MMA career either! There are tons of examples of guys who who had decent chins, or even great ones, the first time that they finally do get flat-lined, they suddenly extremely chinny and easily ko'd.
A perfect example was Chuck Liddel, he had a granite chin - which is on full display when he fought Rampage the first time in Pride-FC. Jackson beat the ever-livin shit outa Chuck, landing massive power shots and the eventually taking him down and pummeling Chuck on the ground for a bit before the Iceman's corner threw in the towel. Chuck as hit a bunch, but he ate every single one without even getting wobbled, which was amazing cuz Quinton was and still is one of the top 5 greatest power-punchers of all time imo. However then when Jackson came to the UFC and fought Chuck in a rematch for the LHW belt, Rampage laid him the fuck out! And from that point on, Liddel was getting wobbled or ko'd on a regular basis until he finally retired.
So with that in mind i was worried something similar might have happened with Poatan. Thankfully that's seemed to not be the case, with him eating some power shots from to of the best ko-artists in the UFC, regardless of weight class, and though he def got hurt a bit early 2nd round against Jiri - he wasn't even wobbled, and not once did he look like he was on the verge of being flat-line ko'd.. Which demonstrates that him cutting so much weight tooo get to 185,, had alot to do with Izzy ko'ing him.. Hill will def test his chin, hopefully it still holds up.
Its going to be easy for alex. 1st round KO
Hill has a good chance but i still got pereira
Jamahal might sleep him , his striking isn’t bad he has a chin , cardio and straight down the pipe is Alex weakness like in Izzy rematch
Nah Alex's weakness is complacency, he gets very overzealous if he gets someone against the cage. Other than that, you could just grapple snoozefest him to win.
@@SamaelVR THANK YOU. His main striking weakness is that he gets too comfortable and sometimes stay in the danger zone for nothing
@@SamaelVR yeah that overconfidence is what got him knocked out during izzy poatan 2, i hope hes adjusted and learned from those 2 times izzy hit him in the same sequence
It was the weight cut imo
2nd ufc fight he was attacking and got to aggressive. It’s the 16oz kick boxing gloves he used for years and uses something close for sparring. His main defense with his body dimensions has always been to just back up and with the big gloves, just about everything gets caught but with mma 4oz gloves it leaves more openings. Also your getting hit with a 4oz Glove instead of Huge 16oz gloves, big difference. As far as Alex being chinny, most ufc people don’t know Alex has 71 career combat fights, won 56 and 47 by KO/TKO (most in 16oz gloves), but he’s only been KO’d 1 time cold (Izzy) and 2 TKO’s his entire career. How the hell is that chinny? Uneducated fans
Praying for Jamahal Hill to be alive after this 🙏
So freaking psyched to see Pereria vs. Hill. Two dynamic and genuinely frightening fighters. Jamahal is so aggressive and Pereia is so technical.

@@notgoingtousemyname6921 Do they?
Idk why everyone counts out jamal so hard, he has shot in this fight
Really, if anything ive been seeing most people saying Hill is gonna sleep Alex, (aside for a few examples - like this guy). Personally i think Hill's gonna be Poatans most dangerous opponent since he started competing in mma. This dude's got a granite chin, like legit - i have never even the seen him wobbled before, to go with decent ko power and very high striking technical skills. If this fight took place in like 4 or 5 months I think it'd be close to a pickem's, fight, but cuz Hill's injury, im def leaning Alex 60-40. Im a huge Poatan fan, but Hill is a fuckin beast, hopefully he has taken the appropriate time to recover/heal, cuz if he has - it should be a banger!
@@8301TheJMan Well, Paul Craig, a 17-7 fighter, knocked him out just 5 fights ago, so there is reason enough that some might question how he will do against Alex. I personally think it can be a competitive fight but Hill being a striker might not be the best thing, especially if he lets his ego rule and tries to square off with Alex and tries to prove himself. I think he has a better chance in playing the long game and keeps moving scoring points, and not trying to bang it out for a finish. If he does try to bang, I think Alex comes out on top easily.
@@vanhattfield8292 I dunno man, good points though. Im a massive Alex fan, so i'm hoping your correct, and though at the end of the day i do think Poatan will prolly win - i still think it's a dangerous fight for him. Hill's chin is great, and has good ko power while also being a technically skilled striker with FAR better striking defense than Jiri. That said, i do think that if he stupidly wants to sit in the pocket and bang as opposed to staying at long/mid range, (which even that's not a great idea due to Alex's leg and high kicks, but at least there Hill can utilize his excellent high kicks), or simply grappling - it could turn out to be a bad night for him. We shall see, really hoping Poatan gets it done though!

6:32 how the hell does Jiri look so relaxed, he looks like he's so bored with the fight game he's considering another career
It's cuz Jiri is a little strange and practices some bushido/warrior code philosophy. He puts a lot of effort into developing his mindset and it works for him. Everything about him is unorthodox.
Cause from outside it's looks like all of his mind focus is about to get as good fighter as it's possible. If that's true - he is insane in some degree. If it's not - well, we are watching a really gifted fighter
just be happy it wasn't Jan Blachowicz vs Anthony smith lollll

Best video analysis for Alex vs Hill
Lol bro i have been subscribeed to you for a long time i didnt even realize as if now you have 27k subs you deserve way more i love you more than leon edwards aesthetic body.
Plus the calf kicks will be brutal especially because of jamahal’s injury which I think will open him up more. Also, if they enter the clinch, pereira can continue to do damage to his legs with his heel kicks to the Achilles. This coupled with his nasty counters, power, and accuracy, secures him a win
Jahamal definitely has a chance but I think Alex will compromise his leg early on, and then it’s just a matter of time. Alex does did have the most trouble in his kickboxing days against aggressive punchers but he did not have the same low kick game. His calf kick will be the game changer.
Plus Hill is coming back after only 9 months from his achilles tendon injury. If the fight was in another 6 months I'd feel much more confident about Jamahal. As it is, it just seems too soon.
@@BiggieTrismegistusMaking excuses for him already? Stupid fanboy 😂😂😂
Funfact achiles is miles away from the calf
Fun Fact Poaton being an elite striker can kick any part of your body he wants to and he broke a guys forearm with kicks in the past so we’ll see 😊
@@mikemosley2948fun fact hill is southpaw so the kick isn’t there
@@jutk1780 Fun Fact Poaton leg kicks both sides, inside and out and is an elite striker, he can kick any part of your body he wants so if you think Alex isn’t going to beat the hell out of that area your crazy. Izzy himself says he has no telegraph and you don’t see it until it’s too late and Izzy would be considered an elite kick checker. Izzy said he wanted to train the leg kicks with Alex to learn his technique. He might not even need them….. the southpaw in this video Powell got left out cold for over 8 minutes 1 shot so good luck but enjoy the fights !
They don’t know bruh 😂
This fight is absolutely great people need to chill
I agree👍 he has better skills and experience, the leg kicks alone will be a big factor with the big felt hook ,the ability to read and adjust and the intelligence to set you up makes this more in favour for Alex and Hill still has the ability to catch you with one so very interesting fight you never know what’s gonna happen
Also the way Alex knocks people out he uses his pinches to swing the opponents heads, no matter how good your chin is those type of punches get everyone
If Hill fights like he has against his other opponents, im 90% sure he goes nighty night.
No one he has fought is as fast and accurate as Pereira, we saw how devastating his short range counter game is against Jiri. One mistake can cost you the fight, and Hill made plenty of mistakes against his opponents.

I want Alex to KO him in round 1 just to see how salty Hill can be
Lol nice
You got your wish lol
The danger is greater against the fence tho bc Jamahal throws combos instead of single shots like Jiri. And Pereira throws counters pretty tightly. I think Hill is better at not overcrowding his work and coming in recklessly.
But then again maybe the leg kicks r too much. Super interesting fight.
alex holds his chin up its kinda fun cause when hes hit he gives u that look like did u really jst hit me, we saw it in the izzy fight the first hit he gave that look then the 2nd one knocked him out

Hill trains with a buddy of mine who got me into training I still don’t think he’s winning but that being said I’m rooting for him like crazy!!
Hill has left field one punch KO power at the weight just as Alex does.
I hope somehow Jamal pulls an upset, it would be hilarious 😂
I can’t believe anyone is seriously picking hill after seeing him flail telegraphed overhands with his hands at his waist and no semblance of defense. Wide open for low kick even worse than jiri also 😊
I pray your right+ i love alex in the ufc 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hurt my Achilles tendon the same way Hill did few days apart. And I'm good now, training full speed. 39,6 kmh max speed few days ago.
Btw, july should be Achilles tendon break month bc there was ridiculous amount of that specific injury it that month. haha
7:02 but see, a BIG difference is that Jamahal isn't throwing just one, AND he's better at distance management so he's not likely to be in range of a short counter-hook.
Alex is going to have to trade with straight shots down the pipe, or utilize more lateral movement.
Because I think being open like that against the cage against someone who's better at boxing (and has the range and reach to stay safe) is going to lead to him getting tagged.
You are saying Hill will keep the distance as if it is a good thing. The more outside you are while fighting, the lesser your chances became to win in the later rounds. Those leg kicks are no joke
Man, you were wrong lol. You pull these opinions directly out of your asshole or what lol
Yea bro they feeding my dawg to the wolves.
Imo alex doesnt look as good at 205 as he did at 185 which is weird
Odd because I lowkey thought the same, I still believe he’s more durable tho😊
That’s because hydrated he’s a rangy nuclear powered colossus at MW.
And people making excuses when izzy beat him when hes clearly better at 185
@@mamadousow8290 Izzy beat him only because Alex got too cocky and went in for an early kill with his guard down. I know Izzy's fangirls will rage at me now but it's true. If Alex stayed calm and kicked his legs for a round or maybe 2 more Izzy would be KO'd/TKO'd again. His legs were on their way out.Doesn't matter anyway, everyone loses sometimes. At 205 he fought Jan at high elevation, both were gassing out and Jan wanted to hug and lay and pray so it was boring fight because of that. Jiri's fight was already better and he will KO Jamahal in spectacular fashion in 1st round so that will be even better.
What u talking about? Alex is better at lhw. He has a better takedown defence, and he picks guys apart not relying on one punch ko. He outstruck Jan . Can't say that about jiri, but he did what he should've done. He is more calculated at lhw.
I hope they start boxing each other like crazy
if it just turns into another leg kick TKO it would be underwhelming(or turn into the Jiri fight, where Hill slowly gets chopped off and feels like time is running out so he jumps in without any set up and gets knocked out for it like Jiri)
He can’t hit the compromised leg for a leg kick TKO because it isn’t his lead leg that had the Achilles injury
Mma math never adds up
Chama!
Conor v Leon would have been pretty mind blowing!
man ur jinxing it again
Man this is absolutely the most stacked card in history what more do you want
I think the biggest issue will be how Hill deals with leg kicks. That of course will come down to his mobility. I can't imagine he's as mobile as he would be a full year from his Achilles surgery. Regardless a healthy Hill does everything well in MMA. I think think Hill is significantly more defensively responsible when he chooses to be than lunatic Jiri. And against Alex he'll choose to be. The idea Alex is miles ahead of Hill isn't supported by his time in the cage or his ability to specifically train for what his opponent does best.
I think this a 50/50 fight tbh
MMA genius. Best in the game.
never thought id see pereira boxing on a hoverboard
I think stands a chance since we've seen pereira get hurt against jiri and prior to dropping jiri Pereira actually was getting rocked too that same round

Most ufc people don’t know Alex has 71 career combat fights (amateur/pro) w/ 56 wins w/ 47 by KO….. but he’s only been KO’d cold 1 time (Izzy) and 2 times tko. How the hell is Alex chinny? His main defense w his size has always been backing up, block whatever’s got through and bait the hook but he was used to the big 16oz kickboxing gloves. 4oz gloves let’s more in and hit a lot harder. He’s working on it though 😊 Also people talking bout Hill’s power needs to peep Pereira vs Powell in this video, guys a southpaw and he lays unconscious face first in the ring for over 8 minutes, 1 punch from Poaton. Hill sonned his mentor. Hill is nice.
I feel like the main event of UFC 300 was originally planned to be a big fight featuring a returning big name. But the bout fell through with whoever it was so Dana just went back on plan B and gave us Hill vs Pereira
Poatan has to put his hands up for this fight. Jamahal has the power to get it done, but he is coming off an injury. Alex has a weak chin but he seems to be careful now but I can see Alex getting it done.
If Alex Pereira pulls this off, I'll stop questioning his chin. I still always have a gut feeling he's going to get slept again.
He was dehydrated and weight drained at 185 I think
@@deshawnfilterfeed1212 there's that but regardless since the ko happened he's vulnerable to another ko. He was getting wobbled by Jiri. I really feel like Hill is a bit more relentless with his striking and if he wobbles Pereira once, he will most likely secure the ko.

I honestly forgot about the leg injury.
your audio is little too low
I think the BMF belt is actually good for the sport it’s just the timing of gaethje vs Holloway is wrong considering both are one fight away from fighting for gold
Poatan argentino. 7:12
Hill has a fast right hand which is what Izzy showed is Alex’s weakness to counter his counter left hook, but Alex’s leg kicks in LHW are to fast for anyone so that will take away that right hand and will probz get koed coming in haha
Hill is no slouch. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he knocks out Alex. He's as tall as Alex, and is a South paw and hits just as hard as Alex. He presents a real problem for Alex.
Crazy I think they got the exact same reach n height
Not really.
The card is great it just lacks the “big fight”, instead we have a bunch of main event fights on a card and i wont complain, but i see why the average casual could be off put and finding this no different than any other card.
conner khabib mind blown haha that wasn't even competitive the first time around. Maybe khabib vs GSP, Nagonnou vs Jones, White vs Mcmahon all those would be mind blowing.
I agree. Hill is getting clipped.
i thought alex was levels above jiri. jiri was still able to pressure him to the cage and tee off on him. alex doesnt fight well going backwards.
Jamahal Hill sees Pereira doesn't weave. Hill for the knockout 1st or 2nd second round.
Hill is getting Ko'd in 1st or at very best (for him) in 2nd. He has 0 chance.
@@MojKanal-cz1iz 0 chance? Bro just say you are a casual
Do not overlook Jamal Hill, he's a sniper that keeps his right ready to fire, and poatan is an infamous slow starter, it's a dangerous fight for him if he goes in cold and slow starts, Mark my words
Another thing to remember bout the Thiago fight, this was years after those knee surgeries he had from the Jon Jones fight, and as a massive Santos fan I know it may be hard to admit, but he simply was never the same after he came back from that. He never had the sort of power and explosiveness that he once possessed prior to that Jones fight, like against Jan for example. So as elite as Hill is imo, and as great as he did against Santos, it's just not nearly as impressive as some are making it out to be, and certainly not as impressive as it woulda been if he had done that to Thiago prior to those injuries. Plus, lets not forget Thiago was also either nearly 40, or even over 40 when he faced Hill, cuz like Alex - he got into mma later than most, which is just a another reason to not overrate Hill's performance that night.
Watch out Jamahal, Alex got them feet 💤
you can never discount Pereira's hook, it defies all logic
Che, you mentioned the leg kicks, but jamal is a southpaw and alex is othodox, unless alex goes inside calf or outside switch kick hes not gonna be landing them
