22 years ago this is what I wanted to pursue, but had no clue where to start, Local university was clueless. Never took off. Ventured somewhere else, now I tinker as much as I can and learn from trial and error, not easy as you get older to stay focused on circuits. DOnt give up though.

This will always remain a dream for many Indian students who pursue Electronics, most of the college labs are the worst, professors harass students for assignments, they don't teach anything and students lose interest in the very first year. I'm in my 6th semester and I'm pretty sure that I will be in the IT sector instead of what I wanted to pursue. : (

That is not true any more. You knowledge and willingness to work is more important than paper diploma.

@@sergeantseven4240 You can not judge all of companies after what you heard from one or two,
It is good to have diploma - it is additional 4-5 years of learning electronics, but we know from our experience that sometimes one just after high school (technical high school) can be also great electronics designer, software of mechanical engineer.
It is true that statistically most electronics engineers have at least a master's degree, which doesn't mean there are no EEs who don't.
Believe me there are companies where diploma is not essential, knowledge first ;)
