I decided to mow this lawn because it was getting really overgrown and by far the worst on the block. While I was working on it, the next door neighbor came up to me and told me the entire backstory behind this house. About 5 years ago he got woken up in the middle of the night to the cops banging on his door. They were yelling at him to get out because the house next door was on fire and his house was at risk of burning down too. The smoke was so thick, you couldn’t see 20 feet in front of you and it engulfed the whole block. Turns out a rival gang fire bombed it when the homeowner was out of town, completely destroying the inside. Since then, they’ve boarded up the windows and the lawn is always out of control. So, I’m glad I could get it back in shape for the neighborhood and looking amazing again!

I am curious, after doing some a cleanup on those yards you do, and as this one and many others that the house doesn't have anyone to continue the care, "Do you ever go back to check to see if the lawn still needs to be maintained or do you do this as a one-time favor". I love your spirit of helping the community. We need thousands and thousands more like you. God will bless you in the future as a humanitarian.

I'm 66 years old and I have not had poison ivy in over 25+ years. Whenever I come inside from being exposed(cutting grass), I take my clothes off to the washing machine. I use dish washing liquid with wash cloth to wash the oil off. I wash my hair and "everything!" I enjoy SB Mowing because I lose 1 - 2 lbs. watching you do all the work. LOL!

Exactly, the oil is what causes the problems and requires scrubbing to get it off.
Spencer is allergic to poison ivy- he does all that when he comes in contact, but he avoids it like the plague! In one of his older videos he said he had to go to the hospital due to his severe reaction.

I am not sure that I would want anything to do with a house associated with gang-related violence, but that does not seem to phase you. What a shame that the house ended up in such condition. It looks like it could be a nice little house with potential, in a good looking neighborhood, with friendly neighbors. Spencer did a great job making it look neat again.
I was looking around at the houses around the house. There is a big apartment building across the street. Across from the street from front of the house, there are some much newer houses but still at least 20 years old. The land that house is sitting on is prime for developers. The man who lives next door is also on prime land. Of course, this could mean an old neighborhood in the middle of “gentrification” and lots of affordable housing has already been replaced. The guy next door seems to be a good guy and he keeps his property up and he may not want to sell and move elsewhere.
Many years ago, over 50, my ex-husband’s grandmother had a tiny little house in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Over the years before that, the neighborhood had become 100% commercial with factories and other businesses. The house was so old she was still cooking on a wood burning stove. She had dozens of handmade quilts that would be worth a fortune even then. All her family had left Chattanooga for Nashville and only some other stubborn neighbors around her took care of her, took her to church, shopping, the doctor. On the rare occasions when family did visit, they would walk around the house talking about who wanted what when she died. Well, when she died, her will left all her family out and the people who took care of her got the property. I met her one time and she was a fascinating lady I would have loved to get to know better. She was born in 1893 on land of the Eastern Cherokees who stayed in Georgia.

Well Spencer stupidity can be very painful and at times deadly for some people ... Love to watch you on Fridays. It gets my gitty up to go do my yard... Even tho "I" am on immunotherapy every 4 weeks (for the rest of my life) I find time to get it ALL done. With refurbished equipment. 👍🏼🏆. I saved up 75 for my mower & 30 for the trimmer. Next a blower. It's been 3 years with them. NO excuses in my home. Time to lean, there's time to clean.

I think the thing that impresses me the very most about you, Spencer, is that you will take the time to pick up every piece of trash and bag it, rather than just chop it up and leave it in the yard. The local gangs should do something constructive for the community like cleaning up overgrown lawns.
That would be nice... Nice change from Destructive to Constructive. But I'm sure many gangs don't think of their Communities.
Some of them actually do provide community help. I know that in South America in the favellas, they gain support by giving money when people need food, medicine, and in return, the locals protect them too.
Most gangs care more about their local communities than the people complaining about their communities care about their own.
Or just not be gangs...
