If you think about it, In the og series, the crazy dude at the crossing point of time episodes, the guy bishop interacted with, he was shown to be immortus
I believe reading that jubilee and Roberto went awol so i think that they decided to leave the team and to have normal lives together and want to leave being heroes behind, but bishop and forge come to convince them to help them form a new team and get the old x-men back
Honestly this is reminding me of season 4 of the avengers assemble show, new heroes to help the old heroes who have been spread out between space and time

I’m just gonna say it avengers versus X-Men was not good. It was a awful regression of Scott’s character. They literally turned him into someone who is willing to commit genocide just for a chance to save the mutants
