Great video, Brandon! I agree that there are better banks out there than Chase when it comes to banking. Where Chase really shines is with their credit cards. I have two of their credit cards and am looking to get another one in the near future. I also have a checking account with them that I opened in 2020. I opened the account for the account bonus ($200) and to establish a relationship with Chase as I had intentions of eventually getting some of their credit cards. Today, I still maintain that checking account because I am able to waive the monthly fee with direct deposits and it makes it simple to pay my Chase credit cards with that account. I thought about opening one of their savings accounts at one point, but I decided against it because other banks offer much better interest rates on savings accounts. That Charles Schwab CD that you mentioned sounds like a pretty sweet option that I will consider!
Awesome video. I agree with some of your points but the reality is people still need to do their financial business whether is to cash a check, withdraw money, pay bills, make money orders, get advise/apply for auto loans or mortgages and they prefer doing it in-person at a brick and mortar branch. Remember that we're talking about mostly older folks who may not be tech savvy, don't have access to internet in their home area or people who don't trust online banks in general with the rise of online phishing scams especially during the pandemic. So they prefer to have an establish well-known national physical branch in their local neighborhood for their financial needs. That's why Chase which has a near monopoly of brick and mortar as you can see a Chase branch nearly every where in the country and will continue to add more branches because there is still a need/demand for physical branches.

Honestly, Chase bank is for the high earning consumer. If you don’t have a lot of money coming into your accounts or make a higher income, then chase bank doesn’t make sense for you.
For various reasons (multiple businesses, etc.) I have had accounts with the Big 3 Chase, WF and BOA the the past decade plus. Chase if you ever actually have to go into an actual branch its by far the best. BOA is expect a long wait almost anywhere you go in the country. Same with WF which is just only slightly better. I've found BOA to have very good alert notifications and very easy to do everything online or via atm. WF was the worst, but easy to contact via phone with some wait. Chase was also very good. Personally if I wasn't kind of of trenched in with some of my other accounts I would just deal with Chase. WF would be second and last would be BOA. For disclosure I never actually signed up with Chase, it was Washington Mutual in the mid 2000s then during the GFC that bank was bought out and that is how I ended up there. WF I opened an account 2011 and BOA one in 2013.
Gonna be honest and say i never liked any of the national banks however, i think chase is definitely the lesser evil in that regard. I see the value in having at least one national bank as a back up option. Given that their business accounts and credit cards are good it's an almost no brainer for me.
