Saw on another vid, if you have solar you can hang them from inside or outside of your back doors when they are open and its winter time (when your in a warmer climate like AZ. You dont have to mount them to the roof. Just change the position of the doors during the day as the sun moves and if they are not fully charged by the time the sun passes the panels you can either move the van or take them off and set them on the ground with something to brace them at the right angle.

  • @ibzane1

    I like the simple design.. Well thought out, and keeps the van dual purpose.. I am doing this same concept on a 6 X 12 cargo trailer that I use for hauling gear for my band.. I want to be able to have multiple uses for the trailer and still be able to use it for hauling cargo.. So I have built a similar setup for a kitchen.. I have a 4 ft countertop/cabinet with a slide out sink, and a drop in stove with a built in microwave and a section for an ice chest or mini fridge, and a vent hood for the stove. And will mount a water tank underneath the trailer with a 12v pump. The trailer is plenty big enough to haul our band gear with the kitchen unit in place. And will be a nice thing to have while on the road to long distance gigs with the band.. I was considering different ideas for a bed, and I like your setup. I can do the same basic thing and have the couch slide out into a bed with storage underneath, and remove it when I need to haul gear. I have a ladder rack for a truck that I am going to modify and mount on top of the trailer to haul extra gear and mount solar panels to charge a battery bank, and add a tarp off to one side. Thanks for the inspiration.

You are missing out on necessary nutrients, who knows what that will do to you long term? There is fats in nuts and seeds, like peanut butter even, also Avocados, you need some Omega 3's from fish or capsules. There is so much you need. And some vitamins are only fat soluble, or some toxins are only fat soluble to get out of your body. coconut oil is good, Olive oil. At least add oatmeal cookies with raisins to your diet.

    I have a 1992 s10 with a camper top I am converting into a adventure truck. It has the 4.3l non vortec with the 4L60E. I have had no huge problems yet except I bought it knowing the trans is bad but I am getting a remanufactured trans for it. It will work for a camping truck and daily driver once I get out of farming.

    as simplistic as this already is, its a pretty good base design! you can add some character along w other elements later on

    Thank you for not milling $3500 worth of golden wood for the damn thing, top to bottom. I've had it with the wood. Idiots have even pulled out original nice, complex upholstery, with perfect lights to wreck it all with thoughtless mounds of lumber. Please do something original kids : ) And, remember, simple can be elegant.

    My kind of build. Gave it a thumbs-up even before finishing the video. Touch-up the rust if there are any but leave it as is, preserve the "Patina."

  • @strietermarinesurvey1415

    Very nice build! Wouldn't find a van that old in Michigan with no rust great price! 4.3 liter engines are very dependable. Had a friend that had one in a 1/2 ton Chevy 4x4 he tried everything to blow up the engine within normal hot dogging and 4 Low off roading, and red lining it, never succeeded! Thanks for sharing!

    Love the swivel countertop/table idea, and the fact that it covers the sink. The marine swivel bracket should be sturdy & hold up well. Has this setup worked out well in actual use?

    • @NWtrailClimber
      @NWtrailClimber Před 7 lety +3

      Yes, the table top worked out really well! The bracket is turned out really sturdy.

    • @brucehalleran1149
      @brucehalleran1149 Před 7 lety +2

      Yes, the swiveling table positioning and mechanics are clean and simple genius. One piece, well built, with three uses. occupying essentially no space. Four if you find a perfect use for the point above the swivel, like a kitchen/desk tool holder or 1 burner stove mount I WILL steal this concept for the kitchen on (not in) my micro trailer, where now the lid of the cooler inconveniently serves as the work table.

    I think a one-pedal-pump would be better, since you can pedal-pump water while using the hands to wash dishes. I'd also make it detachable, and get some long tube, to be able to fill your water storage from a source of water that's a dozen meters away, using the same pump. If you plan on adding a solar panel, maybe consider adding to it some metal sheets to mirror the light for a cheap increase in the energy gain. A small ikea-like (snap-on and screw-stable) water wheel and wind mill, with a small motor connected to the same battery pack as the solar system might also be useful, to get energy regardless of where you are.
