it's useful for winning when you dont have the raw skill to do so, or to generally have fun when normal runs don't satisfy you.

Transcendent already has access to basically everything in the game through stalling. Stalling requires potions. Alchemist is better because Gamblers skills are just stat buffs and extra circuits which Transcendent had access to already through stall.
