  • Another Excellent PO-35 Feature!
    Today I want to bring light to the fact that the PO-35 Speak has a full two minutes of sampling time! You read that right, 120 seconds! Each of the 16 slots can have a separate sample recorded to it up to 8 seconds in length. This means that you could record an entire songs worth of vocals into the PO-35 for real time playing sequencing! Enjoy the video :)

    Wow FreeBeat, today you taught me that if you play a sound legato, the note changes without retriggering the sound. Cool!

      @@FreeBeat haha, well I would say it was a rather steep one because this little device is so much different from any other piece of gear I owned back then...and, to be honest, it took me quite some time to actually discover the secret menu🙈 nevertheless, I'd say it took me about a week or so to figure out how this AMAZING piece of technology works! And the cool thing is, there's seemingly always something that you didn't know about, right? I mean, I just learned that you can use the Microtonic to swap out drum kits! This is incredible!!!

    Wow, that is so much fun! I’ve been thinking about buying the Roland Aira E-4, but this one sounds so much better although the Aira strictly speaking is more advanced. I really hope Teenage Engineering will refill their stock!

  • @KlausRockwell
    @KlausRockwell Před 2 lety +2

    I think that the 35 is the most complex PO to use. It keeps revealing unthought of possibilities the more you work with it over time. I just wish you could have the samples/synthesis play beyond the trigger pattern into a subsequent pattern.

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  Před 2 lety +1

      I agree, it's definitely the most complex. I also agree about wanting sounds to carry over to new patterns haha. That's the one feature I wish it had. Thanks for watching!

    Very nice tip! 2 minutes sampling time is really nice! I think if you let a blank pattern playing it doesn't preview the sound when you switch between those two sounds.

    Just for kicks, after watching this, I’ve had the speak laying around for a while, so I ran it thru my Boss VE 20, it may seem redundant since the VE does everything this does, but sample, I guess in a way it does because it loops, but anyhoo I ran it through the harmonized, yes, an army of robots! It’s not useful for making music but was fun! Lol another great video! Ty Peace

      It's because it's not a true sampler. It doesn't store digital audio samples, which take up a large amount of space, but rather the "outline" of the sound for the synth engine to recreate. Kinda like MIDI info vs audio files.

  • @Hakucho64
    @Hakucho64 Před 2 lety +1
