I know there was a period where the radio was saturated with Nickelback to the point of insanity, but I donât think theyâre awful. Their songs do sound too similar, but their style harkens back to 80s stadium rock. Theyâre nothing spectacular, their sound pretty much borrows from every rock band going back to the grunge era and it does sound overproduced at times, but itâs 2023. Iâve heard far worse.
Iâd much rather listen to them than probably anything in the billboard top 100 rn.

Nickelback haters are just closet hipsters. Just because their songs sound similar doesn't mean they're bad, it just means they found their sound. Theres a lot of one hit wonder bands out there that fail to make a second song good enough to gain popularity... does that mean they're awful? No, people think they're great because they hear this one good song, and dont bother to listen to their other songs that are terrible or boring/flat.
