This is by far the best version of this song. Another great song from The Searchers.
Just absolute gold here...never get tired playing this version.......magic !
So good memories from this music
Had the first record from the Sixties but this is even better!! I am from 1946 and still love this music!!
First heard them perform this version at Cliff Richard’s The Event concert in 89’. Loved it then and still do. Amazing!!
The sound just is magical.. Oh those times.
I am 69. Dutch and live in beautiful Panamá. Love this song and the girl dressed with a look of the fantastic sixties.
such a great song in the 60's and again in the 80's ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER and at 66 i still am
The '80s in many ways was an updated version of the early and mid-60s in the general look, style, hair styles and vibe. The slovenly '70s and '90s, no.
The searchers een groep uit de sixties, bedank voor de mooie muziek , fan henri put belgium
The way they are reminded me of the Beatles in many ways
I've grown up with the original version and can say this....both cuts are GREAT!!!! nuf said.
I love this Guys,,they were part of my life
The Searchers are Absolutely awesome
still out of the 155 songs on my playlist this is plain and simply nr 1
Will always be one of my favorite songs
Love this song can,t beat these golden oldies
i grew up on this music but haven't heard it in years wow so powerful, and my tears roll excellent.
quelle jolie melodie !!!! merciiii !!
I knew a lad yrs ago well he was about 3o he was bloody gorgeous and played in a band but i think he had a skin complaint i all ways called him needles and pins lol glad i grew up lol x
I was in a local club in 1999 which usually had cover bands and alike. A band came on and I thought, "Ah a Searchers number, we have a sixty's tribute band playing".
They play the next track and I thought, wow, these are really good and I made the effort to get up and watch.
I was blown away by a fantastic performance and it wasn't a tribute band, it was THE Searchers playing a local dive bar.
After the finished I met the love of my life that evening in the club. (She is a whole other story).
These are now up there with my favourite bands and that gig, although it was a small dingy venue and a fiver to get in, it is the most memorable gig I have been to.
One of the most awesome openings ever!
das ist pure schöne NOSTALGIE - diese musik
I remember this great old song and the Jackie DeShannon version too, love it!!!
Always sceptical when a group of such standing 'rediscovers themselves' but 23 years later, this actually sounds really good because they have retained their trademark sound ... not always easy to do.
I have just started to listen to all the oldies am only 61 lol got the headphones on trying to bop
in memorory of my uncle bunt died 17/3/07 st. patricks day the legend lives on take it easy on tom in heaven.
One of the best studios I seen! ..........Tina still looks v good.
One of my all time favourite songs
Excellent..Oui.
Great remake. This reminds me of the Cliff Richard The Event Wembley tour xx
again out of the 173 songs on my playlist this is still number 1 great song
Hola tengo 59 años y recien me doy cuenta de esta banda the Searschers..Me perdi la mitad de mi vida.
I would love to see this band for real at least once before they retire next year!
C'E' PASSIONE,SI SOGNA CON QUESTO SOUND,TROVO CI SIA QUALCOSA DI CELESTE,ANNI SESSANTA,IN QUEL MOMENTO DIO ERA CON NOI,IL NOSTRO PERCORSO ERA UNA STRADA APERTA,POI E' ARRIVATA LA BESTIA-DENARO E SIAMO PRECIPITATI NEL BUIO PIU' PROFONDO.
saw the searchers the other night
they are stil class
absolutely brilliant
great song. it takes me back to better days.
On this day in 1963 {May 18th} Jackie DeShannon performed this song on CBS-TV's "The Jackie Gleason Show"
On that very day it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #84 and spent 4 weeks in the Top 100...
It was written by Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono...
Three covered versions have charted: The Searchers {#13 in 1964}, Smokie {#68 in 1977}, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers {#37 in 1985}...
R.I.P. Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nitzsche, and Mr. Bono...
Can't beat the oldies.
A Sonny Bono special. He was a very good songwriter. RIP. Mr. Cher.
excellant, still one of the best ever songs....

That's how it begins this needles and pins. Great song and video
8 YEARS ON THEY ARE STILL CLASS AND ALWAYS WILL BE
Are you guys kidding i grew up in the 80's.
I think is a great 80's version of a great song.....FANTASTIC.....
I've always loved this song. I love this version more than the original if that is possible
Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche wrote this tune and Jackie DeShannon was the first to record and make it a hit in 1963.
Always loved this tune by this group and was a fan of Jackie D. also.
I watched a documentary about Sonny and Cher today. I was surprised to learn that Sonny Bono co-wrote Needles and Pins, one of my favorite 60's rock songs.
Great song, thanks for posting!

On this day in 1964 {April 5th} the Searchers performed "Needles and Pins" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
One month earlier on March 7th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #13 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...
And on January 30th it reached #1 {for 4 weeks} in the U.K.
They were the 2nd British group {after the Beatles} to appear on the 'Sullivan' show...

they are fantastic
I am pushing 58 and grew up in music. Not BS'ing , on my Mom's side Lucy and George Fullerton (co-founder of Fender Guitar) were my aunt and uncle. We all lived in the same town with the Fender mfg plant. BTW Lucy Fullerton died in May 2009 and George two months later in July 2009. I was fortunate enought to know a great many musicians who had played in the late 50's on to the late 70's. I've always play'd in some group since I was 17. Just Bass.
You must be pushing 70 now ... hope you're still with us?
It's so emotional
I seen them live with the Mersey Beats and the Dakotas , It was amazing! :D
Well, did yer now. Aw, shucks.
This is a killer song
Searchers!!!!!!!!! Best ever!!!
I love this version, superb, Spencers voice is just great, and the girl Wow.
It's Frank Allen taking the lead on this version ... Spencer on Backing Vocals along with John McNally.
As great a sound today as it was all those years ago
Bless Sonny and Jack for penning this out. :)
ahhh wonderful lOVELY LOVELY
very beautiful
'loved the original but this is a ***fantastic remake***! Gave me chills.
Love And Tears covered it in 1972. They had a comeback concert in 1994 after supposedly nearly 30 years apart, but there is no live performance video on CZcams. Finding that would be equal to and even more than discovering gold and millions of dollars in a case. Dang what a classic. I'm sure their version in '94 sounded just like this. I can picture it.
Tina Ruland is so sweet ...
@ ko ati,
definitely, but was has she to do with the searchers? I can't find anything about.
Very Groovy
great video thanks for posting.
