  • Christian Bale Interview: Vice
    Given his extremely impressive resume that's packed with transformative performances, his three Academy Award nominations and one win, it's tough to imagine Christian Bale feeling apprehensive whatsoever about taking on a challenging role. But, it turns out, even though Adam McKay wrote the part of Dick Cheney in Vice with Bale in mind, Bale still had to really think about whether or not he wanted to commit to playing the former Vice President.
    The movie covers Cheney's life from his younger years of indulging a bit too much all the way through to securing the Vice Presidency. All along the way, he had his wife Lynne Cheney (Amy Adams) by his side and while Dick may have been the one to assume office, he was very a much a team with Lynne, who used her own goals and ideals to support his political ascent.
    I never thought I'd say I had the opportunity to talk to Christian Bale two times in a matter of weeks, but soon after interviewing Bale for the release of Mowgli: The Legend of the Jungle, I got to chat with him about making Vice. Check out what he told me about committing to the role, becoming Dick Cheney, and nailing one of my personal favorite lines of dialogue in the film in this video interview.
    Vice is due in theaters nationwide on December 26th.

    Bale is without a doubt one of the best if not THE best actor of this generation. i would love to see him and DiCaprio in a movie together

      Me too! I think the cameras could barely handle it - they might just catch on fire or melt and the theaters showing the movie may have to have fire extinguishers and emergency crews out front ready to go. They are the Pacino and DeNiro of their generation!

    Christian Bale saying he isn't a technical actor and has no specific acting technique gives me hope. I would have guessed him to be Mr. Technique

    Bale is not an actor. He's a Silent Guardian. A Watchful Protector. The Dark... Oh, you know the rest of the quote.

    Was sent here from the 1/14/19 Collider Live show... I would have been intimidated to interview Bale, and this was such an insightful interview! Perri is definitely the best in the business, excellent work.

    It’d be strange to think of him in a marvel movie but I have a feeling he’d be great as Kraven the Hunter in a spidey movie.

    These comments are great. I love how you Studio publicists plant comments here to make people think they came from the general public. A little obvious, sure, but still: Great work.

    I didnt know an actor is given couple of months to delve into the character they're going to playing. Is that normal? Seems pretty long to me

      guess you put in more work/time when it’s a non-fictional character?

    • @librarygary1618
      @librarygary1618 Před 5 lety +2

      Some say Jared Leto is still method acting as The Joker somewhere to this day so I'd say he's pretty normal.

      Movies take a long time to start actually filming so it’s entirely possible he was preparing up until they started production.
