Your garden is so well established. The purple plant is aquilegia.
The hydrangeas you’re thinking of removing are called Annabelle. It will be stunning when it flowers in a few weeks time. Huge pretty white blooms covering the plant, beautiful. I bought one at a plant sale once & I had to buy another one this year I loved it so much! Definitely try to dig it up, maybe wait until beginning of October to prune it & try to move it to another part of the garden in November 😊.
