    It is fascinating to live in a unique period of human history where we are the first generation able to see images of the surface of another planet. How lucky we should feel also to live on Earth, after seeing the totally barren surface of Mars.

      Unfortunatley no. NASA did a paper in the '70's about terraforming Mars. Even if you melted all the CO2 ice at the poles, it would only warm the planet by a few degrees Kelvin. So much for CO2 being an agent of global warming.

    • @johncanalese588
      @johncanalese588 Před měsícem +1

      The radio transmission delay between Earth and Mars is not constant and varies due to changing distance due to their orbits. It varies between 4 to 24 minutes each way! Operators on earth therefore don’t dynamically control the rovers. Programmed points to visit and visual scans etc are sent but the rovers are autonomous to a large extent.

    At one point near the end (sorry i forgot to notate the time), it looked like a dried up water fall in the vertical erosion. It would seem that Mars definitely had water at one time, even though I realize that some areas are wind blown looking like lake beds. Cool photage! Thank you!

      @@ph5056 Nothing funny about it. Earth and Mars formed in the same area from the same materials and looked very similar early in their history. Mars once had rivers, lakes and seas. It also had active volcanoes and a thicker atmosphere. Only later did it lose all these and turn into a global desert. So, there's no wonder that Mars looks like some deserts on Earth
