- Legendary car designer and builder Chip Foose picks up his ballpoint pen and markers once more to give us his vision of what the new 2022 Ford Maverick pickup truck would look like as a street rod. There are already numerous aftermarket suppliers making off-road parts for this truck, so Chip thought it would be fun to take it in a different direction. Even if you're not into Chip's style, you can certainly appreciate his talent and drawing skills as he draws this Shelby-inspired custom truck.

the worst mistake that all the auto manufacturers made was getting rid of the compact pickup
@@dmac4278 I wish they kept the compact trucks too.. I'm still a fan of the mini trucks my favorite mini truck of all is the Datsun 620 what a beautiful truck that was. They ought to reintroduce it.

Yeah the Foose Edition Maverick Ford Truck. The first muscle car I ever drove in at 10 yrs old in 1970 was a friends Dad’s Green 1970 Maverick.😎👍🇨🇦

I'd want the actual truck to have his last name signature embossed over the word FORD with a siloette of his quarter angle left side upper body with him looking sideways included just before FORD to really give it a kick and make it a serious collectors edition.

I can barely draw water from a tap so I’m easily impressed with those who are creative. That said, I’m an old school mopar guy and owner with huge respect for Chips various talents. Great video!
I remember being a kid and watching foose drawing the cars other people had to build. I don't think I've ever seen grease or dirt on him.
So? Designers and builders are equally important. I've seen cars created by mechanics with no design ability, they look terrible. I've seen where engineering was secondary to design, they never work properly. You need both groups to make great cars.

I work by Air Design and is pretty cool watch this. I love it!
I would love to see the the body in red w white stripes... dig the black body kit for sure. I love the idea of a more stock look w a squared up wheel and tire setup, that was at least one or two sizes down. Not a fan of the laye 90's bubble kit but I get it have to match the existing body line. Love these style videos! Keep them coming SIR!

That is absolutely amazing! Yes I second the motion please for the love of God please build that Maverick. I still have my Ford Ranger mini truck 1995 model extended cab. Yes it’s still slammed on the ground and yes I still drive it.
One style that I don't like that many modern vehicles have is the drop-down glass that goes into the side body. I like glass to be even with the top of the body

I’ve really missed the small sport truck I had an early S10 just shy of introduction of Xtreme mechanicaly I changed it but I didn’t finish it off
BRING BACK THE CLASSIC FORD MAVERICK CAR FROM THE EARLY 70'S INSTEAD OF A TRUCK. FORD HAS TO MANY TRUCKS ALREADY.

Pretty nice design! A bit crazy sizing wheel I think since anything bigger then 20 inch rim will look dummy on this truck and you can stick the shelby name without serious engine upgrade like a 2.7 Ecoboost maybe? Now how about drawing a Tremor version with a realistic 2 inch lift kit, 18" all terrain tires and a Tremor body kit and grafic look alike? Let see Mr Foose 🙂

It will come with optional engines, eg Coyote, 427 Ford Performance Windsor, 572 Ford Performance Big block.
Fun fact: Maverick was the name used on the first gen Ford Escape in Europe.
In Australia we had a rebadged Nissan Patrol called the Ford Maverick. Ford seems to have used this name in a lot of different ways.

Just curious, why would you think the build quality of the Maverick sucks?
@@nickb3968 I could fit my fingers between the door card and the actual door on the Maverick I looked at, panels were touching with no gap between them which will eventually cause rubbing and paint damage, the interior felt slapped together to me as well. You’re buying a Ford Fiesta with a bed and getting exactly what you pay for at that price point, a great bargain for a college student or new driver and also great as a delivery vehicle but just not for me as a daily driver.

The build quality doesn't suck lol. I've seen multiple Mavericks in person, the quality is on par with other low to mid 20k vehicles.
I don't expect the same quality of a F150. It's 1/2 the cost but 2x mpg city.
