I am sure real fire had already damaged thermistor of heat detector and also body of the heat detector is also burned :D :D :D You should use right testing methodh specifified by manufacturer. Hope you understand that testing methodh should not detrodate the performance of the detector that is one of the important factor in Fire Industry.

So for a start that is a heat detector… not a smoke detector … you don’t need to set card on fire….just use the lighter
don't use a lighter. it'll burn the heat detector like he did there. use a hair dryer. it'll be more effective without damaging the detector
FFS if you haven't got the correct test equipment you can use a hair dryer on a medium setting which won't damage your heat detector.
