Secretary of State Kemi Badenoch MP visits Tata Steel's Port Talbot site

On Friday 21 April, the Secretary of State for the Department for Business and Trade, the Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP visited the Tata Steel site in Port Talbot to learn more about the steelmaking process and its importance to the community.

UK can't afford to manufacture steel. The Pound is too strong. Steel manufacturing is not so much of a problem in India because the currency is weaker and Indian steel companies like TATA Steel and Jindal Steel can sell globally at a competitive price. It's better to let the UK steel industry collapse and use the landsites for some other purpose such as building houses to accommodate people to work in the UK's service industries.
