The point you made at the end is so important. When they performed at the AMA's in 2017, tons of labels in the US wanted to sign them. They declined the offers and chose to remain independent artists over here. This obviously was a hard road for them, as they were already facing the difficulty of being outsiders and performing in Korean. It would have been easy for them to sign with someone over here to handle their western promo. They could have had better luck with awards shows and things like that. But they did not want to compromise their artistic integrity. I'd say their decision has worked out for them since they've blown up in the US without the help of a US-based label.

I started listening to BTS because my youngest daughter found them and became obsessed with them, insisting that I listen to this or watch that LOL - kinda drove me nuts, but in a good way. These guys are roughly the same age as she is, and while I was watching them in interviews, or concerts, etc., one thing that stood out in my mind always was what good kids they are. Genuine, polite, funny, sensitive, selfLESS kids (I can call them kids...I'm old enough to be their mother lol) and I fell in love with that. They are such a positive influence on my kiddo, and help her heart and her soul, that I just couldn't be anything but proud and protective of them, watching their awards shows like they're my own kids on that stage. They got me, for better or worse, because they helped her. Of course, it helps that they have amazing music LOL. They bring out the good in all of us.

There are a lot more senior and male fans who were not included in this statistic since XCeleste got the figure from 2019 concert ticket sales. Also numbers grew now since this video was made. Getting their concert ticket is like a hunger game & sold immediately and younger ones are much better at using these days technology to get those tickets than older people (speaking from a 64 yrs old fan).

    20:42 very nicely put!
BTS and ARMY are indeed very in tune - we are protective and cognitive of each other, the respect and admiration goes both ways!
    As RM (the leader) said:
    "There 100 Percent of success,
I will give half (50%) to the ARMY,
    5% each (member) so that's 35% and
    15% to HYBE, BigHit... "
Regarding an earlier comment in the video (them being a filler) a quote I just remembered one of them made:
"we're were lucky, but we worked hard for that luck".
Sadly, I can't remember who of the members said it 🙄, please comment if one of the ARMY knows 🙏.

I love your enthusiasm and your reactions. BTS and Army's relationship is unique; the boys have said their achievements are not because Army pushes them but because he walks by their side hand in hand. They are simple and humble. Even RM, the leader, has mentioned that any award or recognition is 50% from Army, 5% from each of the guys, and 15% from his company and support team.
In South Korea, it was considered that only the groups of the Big3 (the 3 great entertainment companies) could have much success and good sales. Even the Daesang or grand prizes were always won by artists from those companies.
BTS came to break paradigms by being a group with great sales not only in Korea but also in the world, it is even the best-selling group in the world in 2020 and 2021; they started winning those big awards (even winning all the main prizes in some installments) in Korea and started appearing at award shows in other countries as well. Last year they won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards (they even debuted on US TV at the 2017 awards show), yesterday they won 3 Billboard awards (their first award in the US was at the BBMA's 2017).
They also took Big Hit Entertainment from being a small company to being Hybe (the company was renamed and a subsidiary was created under the name of Big Hit Music), one of the 100 most influential companies in the world according to Time magazine and the Korea's top entertainment company.
hahaha Sony or Universal? Well last year Hybe ended its distribution contract with Sony's Columbia Records and signed with Universal. Well, another important fact, in 2020 they became a partner in their company and it acquired the American Itahaca, which among its subsidiaries has the agency that represents Justin Bieber, Arianna Grande, Demi Lovato, etc, so they are company partners.

Hi, I've just discovered your channel and quickly binge watched all your bts reactions. Thank you for all the uploads, I enjoyed watching them! I've seen people recommending Introduction to BTS by Taylor Nakamoto and I just wanted to say that I don't think it's a good introduction yet. Taylor set it private since the guide had some misinformations in it and lacked info about some members so I'd ask you (if you ever planned on reacting to it) to wait till the final version is released. There's another very good and popular guide "Introduction to 7 members of BTS" by Ida S and rn it's probably the best video to watch to learn more about the group.

    • @amberpearce710
      @amberpearce710 Před 2 lety +8

I respectfully disagree…I think Taylor’s one is better. First off it is probably the least bias video out their. She uses amazing clips…Maybe it doesn’t have every single detail about each member but it shows some of the most important parts for each member. It is an introduction video so it means not every detail but the important parts. It also shows their relationship with each other…
You also have to keep in mind prospective of the person who is new ARMY. Taylor’s not only shows their important roles in the group but is shows a little bit about their relationship with each and each members personalities.
Ida S one is good but it also is a little bias and it also only focuses on their professional side. While it is cool to see and is informative, Taylor’s is a lot more enjoyable to react to especially if you see it from someone coming into BTS…
      Just my opinion though

I truly respect both your opinions but I have to say I agree with you, Amber. Ida's video isn't as nuanced as Taylor's. One I absolutely hate though is "The Most Beautiful Moment..." but I know others love that one so... 🤷‍♀️

    • @amberpearce710
      @amberpearce710 Před 2 lety +5

@@imajinallthepurple I totally understand you point of view…
I have mixed feelings about Most Beautiful Moment in Life. I like it but I don’t. I love how it the narrator makes it easy to understand and is interesting. It is cool to see their growth. However I don’t like:
      1) It is biased. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Jimin. However he wasn’t a capstone. He had a really hard time getting in. I just don’t want his efforts to be belittled…he had to work hard to make it into BTS…
      2) The video makes it sound like the members didn’t always have full control over their work. It kind of make it sounds like they only started writing/producing their music later and not since the beginning
      3) I don’t like how it makes it sound like Dynamite was released to dominate the west. It wasn’t. It was released to help uplift people during covid. In fact they tried to make it in Korean but I just sounded better in English…
      4) their are a few other things but can’t remember at the moment…
Besides these things I think it is a great video if you just want to focus on their successful side…

Personally, I think you need to watch several different introductions videos to get a fuller understanding of the BTS members. Each video tends to concentrate more on certain aspects; though Taylor Nakamoto's is arguably more in-depth. Still, I would always suggest watching the introductions by Taylor Nakamoto, IdaS, and SUGA&Spice. I know there are a lot more out there, but those three are my favorites.💜

@@leahwarburton I totally agree with you. I just think the best one to introduce BTS with is who is BTS by xceleste and Taylor Nakamoto. Then if they are interested to learn more they can watch other stuff. I think these two just really help make people more interested in BTS as want to get to know them more…then into the rabbit hole they go. You know?

Good idea to react to this introduction so soon. I think it's a fine introduction video. But of course there is sooo much more to mention about BTS, but this was a good start. And then I'm sure the comment section will guide you along when you continue to react to their music.
And it's definitly important that you know that they write their own music. The rapline are the main songwriters (RM, Suga and J-Hope) , but all 7 members have contributed in their music.
They have 3 english songs they released during the pandemic to cheer up ARMY, and those were mostly written for them by someone else. I think Dynamite was completely written for them and maybe the other two aswell. I think maybe the rapline wrote their verses in Butter, but I'm not sure...
RM, Suga and J-Hope even released their own mixtapes, where they are both Songwriter, composer and producer. And, as you know, Suga has produced songs for multiple famous artist, such as PSY's latest hit... and he's won prizes for producing.
Excited to see which songs you're reacting to first! See you in the next reaction.

So dont worry about your age its nothing in this fandom, I am a 68yr old grandmother from Australia and have been ARMY since they found me in 2017 and love them all. Having a "bias" doesnt mean you arnt OT7 (which I am) just means certain members catch your eye for some reason, could be their voice, their dancing, their sense of humour or their personalities. So with the music they cover so many genres that we often say the genre is BTS. You are sure to find a lot of songs that resonate more than others but I will say of their 300+ songs I havnt found one I dislike yet. Their "B side" would be A sides for many groups.

Excellent reaction. So glad to see how you were understanding who they are and why they are so big and seeing beyond their looks and performances,….which are amazing! It’s their sincerity, hard work, ethics and their absolutely adorable and chaotic personalities that we as ARMY love. I’m in the 50+ demographic and have seen my share of artists & bands I’ve followed and liked, but never been so enamored by all aspects of a group of people or anyone like I’ve felt with BTS.

Thank you for reacting!!! Xceleste did/does such an amazing job, such a good video!!
    Enjoyed your thoughts.
BTS and ARMY are really a family. For those who aren’t apart of it, it is really hard to describe the relationship between BTS and army and army themselves…While their are some bad apples majority of the fan based is really positive and nice (just protective).
I haven’t known BTS for long but I do feel apart of them family and loved even if they don’t have any idea who I am. I also feel like they are almost like my family and so I become protective of them…idk it is just crazy…
If you are interested in getting to know the fanbase more I recommend: BTS ARMY by xceleste
If you are interested in getting to know the members (roles in group and personalities) I recommend; BTS member Introduction by Taylor Nakamoto (it is a draft but still amazing)
Their is another one by Ida S but honestly I think Taylor’s one is better.
Just my opinion though. Whatever you decide I will watch and enjoy…
Sorry for this long comment lol.

I feel the need to talk about the Army a little!I m an older generation Army being alongside since late 2017 and since then other than my love and respect grew for these extraordinary young men(BTS) ,also my love and respect grew for this Fandom!I came across such precious human beings !I often got blown away from their points of views, perspective, humanity and intelligence! The common things that I identified are positivity, understanding ,motivation, compassion and respect !!Now ain't that the ultimate breeze of hope?A lot of them even already faced or facing difficult situation in life but they face /faced them with such a strong will and dignity that put even the older us in awe!!I'm also so excited when I come across younger ones!Of course there are some "cases" ( they exist in every) society but most of them are passionate people standing up not only for themselves but for the others and the greater good !!Now BTS deffenetly paved the way to so many horizons and proudly claiming Armys caring the torch!Love you all!!"You're nice, keep going"❤
    Love from Greece!

I discovered BTS Jan. 2012 and your reactions are by far the BEST! Your heartfelt comments and appreciation of BTS are touching. I am looking forward to more reactions from you. I suggest the music videos of Dope, Bullet Proof, Fire, Black Swan, and ON Kinetic Manifesto (fasten your seat belt for ON!), and then I strongly suggest you move immediately to their live performance on the 2022 Grammies and their live performances on the Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2018, 2019 and 2021. Be prepared to have your mind blown! Jimin received an aware for his contribution to Korean culture for his Korean fan dance in the MMA 2018 performance. Lastly, I suggest the Italian ARMY's explanation of the BTS song Spring Day, which is a powerful protest against the Korean government's handling of a ferry accident. No one was allowed to get the people off the boat and a couple hundred school children drowned. BTS is on a completely different plane than any other performers. They are a force for good in the world.
