    Welcome to Kitchen Garden Therapy channel. My name is Slava. Here I share my experience with growing my food from seed and practicing permaculture principles. I am an avid cook and herbalist, love fermenting and canning what I grow. My garden is a very small urban backyard, zone 5b, I am growing in ground, raised beds, cold frame and a little greenhouse. Sometimes gardening is viewed as hard and stressful, my purpose on this channel is to show how therapeutic and rewarding it can be. And how great it is to be at one with nature. I find it to be specifically important in urban areas where people are so alienated from nature. No matter where you live and how much space you have, you can start small and grow together with your garden, eat what you grow and grow what you eat. Hope you find my ideas and experience useful in your gardening journey.

      @@KitchenGardenTherapy would using freshly picked herbs affect the quality, or is it best to dry the herbs first?

    • @KitchenGardenTherapy
      @KitchenGardenTherapy  Před rokem +2

      If you are going to use it right away you can definitely use fresh herbs but for longer storage, drying herbs is essential

    • @KitchenGardenTherapy
      @KitchenGardenTherapy  Před 2 lety +1

      I get most of the spices from international market here in Chicago. Some of the herbs I grow, some I get from my mom, who comes to visit me from Ukraine. Some people have their tea same way as coffee, with milk, maybe you should try one time)

    Omg these are sooooo cute. Are they reusable? I usually just use loose leaf tea, but my daughter complains about having to use a strainer. That rose tea is soooo pretty! I have a bag of rose buds I don't know what to do with hahaha

    • @KitchenGardenTherapy
      @KitchenGardenTherapy  Před 2 lety +4

      They are not reusable but compostable, so no waste lol
      Rose buds are a great addition to any tea, just mix it in)

    • @KitchenGardenTherapy
      @KitchenGardenTherapy  Před rokem

      I think you can add liquid flavors to the dry herb, let it absorb and dry and then put in tea bags.

    Have you tested the bags to insure they are 100% cotton? If you put her to it, and it melts, it is not cotton. If it burns, then chances are, it's cotton. Don't take a manufactures word, test it yourself, especially if the place it is made from has a history of not being honest.

    • @KitchenGardenTherapy
      @KitchenGardenTherapy  Před rokem +1

      Yes I did and it passed the test thankfully. I’m always skeptical of manufacturers claims like you said, can’t blindly trust them.
