- In this Episode of RIDE we are visiting the devil's horsemen. The family business which was founded in the 1970s is today the biggest provider of horses, tack, and carriages for movies, commercials, and photography. We talked with Camilla Naprous who leads the company together with her father and brother about the companies history, the movies they were part of, and what is the specialty of working for the devil's horsemen.

I can honestly believe it’s harder to get a horse to stand for a scene that anything else. “Oh, you want me to charge downhill into a burning building, sure!”

I saw a special many years ago about the Clydesdales used in a movie. First, they had to be broke to ride! Eventually, the learned--on their own!--what CUT! and ACTION! meant.
@@Cricket2731I’ve heard of a few horses in movies where they’ve had to use alternative words to action and cut to stop the horses learning the cues because they won’t work properly when they hear these words!
More people need to hire them. There's nothing worse than seeing a big budget film have blatant tack errors.

Goodness, that was a blast from the past for me. I knew Gerard (the father) about 40 years ago whilst working at Alton Towers.
Our family had to absolute pleasure to be invited down to visit the horses and do some filming with them (27th may 2022), our son Louie to meet the star of the lloyds bank advert who he absolutely adores. We had the most amazing morning, the staff where unbelievable kind and patient with louie, was the perfect day and one our family will treasure forever. So thank you so much an unbelievable insight into all you do. Keep up the superb work.
From now on I'm gonna look at the tack and carriages if I spot the same one in different movies.
Also, Camilla looks like a wonderful person and teacher and that buckskin horse is stunning!
It would be amazing to tour their facility, see all the carriages, harnesses, and horses. Plus the leatherwork and metalwork areas and the carriage shop!

Very cool. At 5:25 that is how Trinity mounted his horse and I used to do that with my horses. Not sure if I can anymore!
