- Ursula von der Leyen was proposed for President of the European Commission for a second term by the leaders of EU countries.
The candidate will take the floor in Parliament’s plenary session in July and outline her vision and plans as Commission President, followed by a debate with MEPs.
The vote by secret paper ballot will follow after.

The Commission President is elected for a five-year term by the European Parliament, following the European elections. The European Council proposes a presidential candidate to the Parliament. The proposed candidate generally comes from the largest political group in the Parliament. The Parliament has to approve the new Commission President by an absolute majority. Once approved, the European Council officially appoints the new President.
Parliament elects the President of the Commission, by absolute majority, via a secret ballot. If the candidate does not obtain the required majority, the leaders of EU countries will need to propose a new candidate within a month and Parliament will vote on the new candidate.

The people who suffered from mental health crisis, the families that were split, the people forced to die alone in the hospitals, the denial of basic human rights such as going outside, being in nature and breathing fresh air, the business owners that lost their businesses, people who lost jobs because they didn’t vaccinate, the friends and families that turned against each other, the people who lost their livelihood - should I go on? Disgrace to say this Ursula. It’s criminal what was done and no one except for the regular citizens are paying for it. Give back the individual countries please and let us have our nations and be individuals. Then as individuals, let’s build stronger communities amongst people, neighbors, and create strong societies. We don’t need to be told what’s right and how we should behave, what we should eat, etc., we are not children, thank you very much. We are adults and we’ll manage just fine together as people. Globalization is not what’s needed, it’s individual communities that need to rise stronger.

If von der Leyen keeps talking just to her people she will become very lonely in time. Well, von der Leyen wasn't a firm politican anyway and she really loves to rule without questions since the very beginning of her career. Frauenunion tells stories. Her unpresidential behaviour in her speach wasnt far a surprise, really. But she is very firm about the fact that this is her last period of power. She will become very dangerous for the democracy in the European Union if followed blindly. Old politicans who became experienced turn out to be ruthless in the execution of power when they know they wont last any longer.
Let's be precise , in my opinion: VonderLeyen plan of Industrial Revival, Financial Union, smart Defense Union and re - inforced Frontex, EU Savings & Investment Union, Stronger Open Competition, Housing Solutions, etc., are very good proposals that should have been approved by the previous incompetent Parliament already , but on the other side , let's remember: Zelenskiy run for office promising Basic Rights for the Donbass Minority and a Peace Deal with Russia, and 72 % of Ukrainians voted for that , but after elected he rejected all , he lied . To deny a elected official the right to ask for Peace Negotiations is unconstitutional, since VonderLeyen is a political appointee only. And to deny the Right to Free Speech, and constant deleting in Social Media, is a huge mistake and unethical , in my opinion. Ukraine must have Presidential Elections, Zelenskiy, Yermak and Fink term has expired in May 2024, he has no right to ask to expand the War. Let the Ukrainians vote !

As a ordinary citizen of european country (which is a member state of european union) I would like to ask you european parliament channel why there is not Polish subtitles? I would like to know what that lady is saying. Not everyone knows english. You repeat that EU is friendly organization to all Europeans but you dont want europeans to actually find out what future you are planning for them.
We dont want dangerous migrants like in France. We dont want green deal (80% of poles cant afford to renovate their houses because they simply dont have that much money) We dont want euro AND FINALLY WE DON'T WANT YOU TO DECIDE WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN OUR OWN COUNTRY.
