INEOS Team UK... where did it go wrong? Forza Luna Rossa!

- Forza Luna Rossa! Buona fortuna per la Coppa America!
Luna Rossa are deserved champions of the Prada Cup. Despite their dominance in the Round Robin INEOS Team UK never got going in the finals, struggling in light wind and them missing their opportunities in the breeze.
My prediction skills have taken a battering! Ultimately, the races played out favouring Luna Rossa in lower winds, but crucially, when we did see 15 knots plus INEOS still failed to make an indent.

Congrats Team UK from Italy and Forza Luna Rossa!
Big thanks Lorenzo. And good luck in the Match.
Yes respect for the british team and Sir Ben Ansley great champion but the problem for Ineos was the low performances with light wind. I saw Ben give the 120% hope back soon.
Thanks for your impartial opinion Mozzy. I love how this channel is all about sailing and science..italian viewer. Forza Luna Rossa 🇮🇹
Hey mate, as a Kiwi, I have really enjoyed your informed and unbiased views. Please don't leave us now because you are the turn-to program. I have learned so much, as have I'm sure, others have too. Thanks very much my man and take care.
The Italian emotions were finally let out of the bottle! Good on them
Bravo, Mozzy Sails! You guys are fantastic. Keep up the excellent analysis. The official PR emanating from Auckland is, shall we say, limited in its depth? Sailors who understand (or hope to understand) the racing rules, match racing, developmental yacht classes, hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, and crew organizational structures are all tuned to your CZcams channel.
Grazie a Mozzy Sail per la sportività dimostrata
Lemon of a boat and massive ego was there downfall ...
A disappointing result after RR1 maybe, but you can’t argue with being beaten by a better boat/team on the day really. At least the result wasn’t decided by foil equipment failures, software failures or anything like that.
While I would have loved to see Ineos get through to the AC, the Prada Cup is all about finding the best boat to fight the defender, and, think that was done. It’s going to be fascinating to see how they match up to NZ. I can’t wait.
My final thought, LR have been trying for 20 odd years, it’s nice to see them have a crack at the AC....I’m rooting for them now Ineos are out, it would be great to see the cup go elsewhere - nothing against NZ at all, they have put on a great show at a time when a lot of us needed something positive to look forward to the most, but a new nation getting the cup would be great.
Many thanks again Tom. Your lucid and knowledgeable thoughts are very much appreciated and immediately helped me get over today’s disappointing result for ITUK. Really looking forward to the even bigger challenge for LRPP and of course, your valued input.
And yes, Forza Luna Rossa!
No question LRPP knows how to tack & gybe their boat... The better all around boat in this series.
Another great video.
Speed through the tack is a function of how high the vessel can point.
Really enjoying your overview pre and post race. No ads to interrupt your sentences is a joy. Keep up the great videos!
I like the competence of this channel, you always manage to explain with simplicity what happens in the water. Also I like your sportiness in admitting the superiority of the crew and the Italian boat. I hope to bring the cup to Europe, so that we can renew the challenge with you, who have always represented the supremacy of the seas.
Kiwi here, love your insights , so glad you'll be continuing to analyze the racing . .cheers :-)
No question, the best boat won. LR's high-mode upwind is a great asset to close the competition out and super-slick tacks and gybes. Looking forward to the racing against ETNZ and thanks for sharing this content; its great.
Might just be the bow but LR reminds me of KZ7.
Cheers Mozzy, really appreciate it as an Italian. Top notch videos mate. Forza Luna!
What a truly excellent series you have given us. It's so encouraging to have intelligent, technical and passionate analysis. It reminds me what a brilliant country we are. Thank you so much Mozzy and the crew. We'll done LR. Good luck Team Ineos next time around. We will come back stronger. 👍
I'm totally impressed by the sporthip recognations of theese videos. Kudos to you and keep been so honest
Thanks a lot. We all italians are honored to have played such a beautiful final with you of Ineos.
LR has been fun to watch. During the Christmas race, it didn’t seem like they had much of a chance but the tandem helmsmen really came through and just seemed to do a lot of things right. The boat is beautiful and kept getting faster. Would love to see the Italians win the cup.
"Let's get the sail down and go and get a beer "
Spithill the man! Had good laugh at that one!
It is almost unreal just how little vmg Luna Rossa was loosing on each tack. Upwind they are really super-strong. Forza 🇮🇹
Thanks for the commentary so far. Hope they stick with the AC75 for the next challenge, the teams are only just coming to grips with them and it'll be amazing to see how they evolve further
Agreed, hopefully another three or four challenges too
@@LMcGearty if not for covid I think we would’ve had at least 5 challengers
I would like to see a little bit less on the tech development and more on the sailing skill. So yes, AC75!
Subscribed your channel when we were maybe 10 times low. I see now 12000 subscriptions and I think you deserve it all because you’ve built a very great job. Thank you and Tom and Rob (he was right on the winner 😉) please don’t give up. I’ve even learned to understand you without subt (with a doubt if you had gone deeper in tech, and surely not that for the quick Rob 😅)
Congratulations with your work and your Italian language greetings.
Waiting for the next one.
👍💪🤟
It's worrying for you now Pietro. If you can understand us then you may no longer understand most English speakers 😂
@@rbcg105 Ahahaha you're my target Rob. The day I will understand you completely while speaking , I'll really "make the grade"
Would truly remain the awful southeast-brit (indians & neighbors), but I don't have a spare life to waste for... ;-D
Best boat, best crewmanship and best helmsman in Spithalll. Great package. Watch out ETNZ LRPP will be continuing to develop and improve over the next few weeks.
Thank you guy 👍🏻we hope bringing 🏆in Europe
Thank you for all the technical details, discussion and analysis. Your contribution to my education has made watching the racing so much more interesting.
Thank you!
Prada cup done. Kudos LR for comprehensive 7-1 victory and displays of good sportsmanship all round. Now on to the big game. It's clear Kiwi's will have a real fight on their hands with battle hardened Italians. This is AC culture so no "participation trophy" for Ben. Though one hopes Jim is sufficiently inspired by Rita's sterling effort to tip another " lazy 150 mill" into Ben's next tilt at the Cup. Also ... Thanks Mozzy for bringing your contribution of rational analysis and insightful commentary to the wider sailing community ... much awaited and appreciated over platitudes of regular media.
@alien lifeform research -- "It's clear Kiwi's will have a real fight on their hands with battle hardened Italians." how do you think this? It's probably the case that ENTZ is as much faster than LR as LR was than ITUK. ENTZ has the advantage of setting the rules, and ENTZ's "creative" interpretation of mainsail area (large portion of ENTZ's mainsail lower in the boat) and foil shape.
Who will actually win AC is anyones guess at this time. COR cowrote the design rules with Kiwis, have been in "design development" as long and push their own "creative" design interpretations. Pre xmas races don't mean a lot given subsequent advancements and upgrades . A lot of "on paper advantage" is being spruiked by both sides in advance of AC race. For example, LR "backroom" folk understand ETNZ has a fraction more main below deck line. They simply question its effectiveness "down there". Pointing out ETNZ's resulting "in the the sail" hydraulics setup comes at cost of theoretical raised "swing weight" and clumsier mainsail "shaping" implementation. Foil shape differences are extensively debated .Many commentators believe that LR has better inherent performance characteristics in light to medium air. On paper, the finer profile ETNZ foils look optimised for medium to higher winds. On the other hand, Kiwis have flipped their boat twice which LR have yet to do. The last time in a friendly drag race with yanks while going top speed "in a straight line". Made them look like duffers. They are now sporting a new rudder. Is this a sign of ETNZ nervousness regarding twitchiness in flight stability at highest speed and especially when turning aggressively? There is lot's of "design voodoo" and speculation floating around to feed endless hours of friendly argument "without proof" before starting gun for race 1. What cannot be disputed is that LR has demonstrated tactical "killer instinct" and impeccable crew work under pressure in PC final. 7-1 is an emphatic victory by any measure. They even demonstrated the rare ability to loose starts and win from behind. LR's "high mode" gear changes and subtle foil setups are real, race winning advantages if not matched by ETNZ . LR's "on the water time" actually competing and winning in heat of competition generates vital, intuitive bonding and confidence amongst crew and is not fully replicable in simulators or by doing laps in the harbour. So, Kiwis may very well win but they would be foolhardy thinking at this stage it will be a pushover ... odds are it will be a battle. As a race fan I hope it goes 7-6 whoever wins.
@@alienlifeformresearch2280 great, detailed post. Thanks for that. I also hope LR is the match of ENTZ. I had thought Spittle was a better starter but Bermuda showed no advantage after all. I would never bet against Tuke and (that guy who has worn out the phrase "full credit to ..."
PS: My early prediction is that LR will be quicker VMG at 11 knots and lower, they will be an even VMG match in races at 12-13, and that ENTZ will be faster in 14 and up They both made their average wind speed design compromise bets over a year ago, so now only Neptune (or whoever the wind god is) can set the playing table and watch it play out.
@@larrydunn4626 Thanks Larry . Would like to praise Aukland as contest venue for the variety of challenges posed by the various race courses, sea states and wind directions. It's a real treat to see these missiles pushed to the edge by the best sailors on the planet.
Come on guys, the kiwis are at the top off there game, they hav the Italians well covered, ypur not seeing what us kiwis are seeing.we have No worries what so ever
Cracking stuff, Thanks for your time getting this content out. Really adds to the competition. Can you see if you can get on the press circuit and perhaps get a few questions in a the press conferences. I tend to find the usual questions from the press are dull and not very insightful. Looking forward to reviewing the ETNZ package in some more detail. Thanks again!
Completely agree, some of the questions asked are a complete waste of the platform
Yes but most of the stuff we want to know are secret and wouldn't be divulged. Too much PR at stake to say who picked the wrong head sail or forgot to let the runner off!
They wouldn't answer anything too technical anyway, but you're right about the quality of the questions; the first question yesterday went something like: "Jimmy, you're the person Kiwis like to hate, are you looking forward to getting back at them?" at which point I switched off.
@@Generative_Midi_ That is the sort of question you would ask a MAFS contestant
Your commentary is dope mate.....thanks ....stay in touch with italian emotional way of life!
Gotta keep it up for the America’s Cup! Loving these videos!
Yo MS, let me congratulate with you for the sportsmanship you always shown
and for the amazing analysis you put down these days. Respect for ineos Uk. Btw you ve got a nice accent in Italian, keep practicing :).
Let’s see what we can do with NZ. As always may the best win.
Peace.
Thank you for your great reviews and sportsmanship in cheering for Luna Rossa's winning. I can't say the same for NZ team that denied a visa to the Bertelli family, using the excuse of a lack of quarantene rooms! They forgot the help given by the Luna Rossa team during the past Americas Cup in Bermuda!
That's all booked out three months in advance. Thousands of NZers still patiently trying to get home.
Michael Jim Ratclif was able to arrive and NZ didn’t have 1 room for the main sponsor himself!? Mr Bertelli gave team NZ all the tech of his boat in the Bermuda challenge.
Luna Rossa have a neater, more compact design. Clearly a benefit of being COR. They have figured how to sail and race the boat and have improved from the Xmas series onwards. Spithill is right up with the best match racers. Chances are that the holders will be slightly quicker - it is their home turf, and their design rules. Luna Rossa are worthy opponents, let's hope for some variety of weather conditions - bring on the main event!!
Thanks for your superb insight of the Prada Cup. It is a weakness in the AC75 class where the outcome is so influenced by the wind speed.
I look forward to the AC races in 10 days time.
Love this channel! keep it up!!!
thanks for the great commentary and insights along with your informed guests.
really enjoyed your point of view and expertise. l was a bit shell shocked that INEOS went down after winning the previous comp easily. Looking forward to the BIG ONE. Well Done Mozzy. Nice channel
Have enjoyed your pre and post analyses which have always been fair and unbiased although mostly incomprehensible when it comes to the technical stuff (95%!!!) . Looking forward to final. Although not a sailor I actually lived in Devonport in the mid 60’s so very familiar with the area which is the perfect venue. Keep it up, please.
That was a fantastic match. Thank you Ineos, hope to see you again in the next America's Cup. By the way this is a great channel.
Strategically, Luna Rossa's first boat was loads better and Ineos brilliantly caught up but just couldn't get ahead, given some of the original design constraints.
Tactically, Lunar Rossa just ironed their organisation, nailed the starts and revealed their better speed; something they didn't do in the round robin.
Great series guys, keep it up!
Thanks Mozzy, good Italian! See you on SA too
Congrats for your italian 👏👏👏
I love your channel
great commentary as always, and well done to Luna Rossa.
Spot on again. The better boat is going forward. Selfishly I would have liked to have seen more races between the two challengers but it's a measure of how much better Luna Rossa werr that Ineos were only able to take one win. It must be very frustratrating for the Ineos crew to know they were competing with the slightly slower boat and were realistically hoping for mistakes from LR but that's the way the America's Cup is run. I hope the class is kept going since it is fun to watch and based on the improvements we've seen being made between each stage of the campaign they're still not optimized. Can't wait to see how LR and ETNZ match up. Thanks again for the great commentary.
Brilliant, clear, sporting analysis. Looking forward to the AC with your commentary.
Hi Tom, my hat off to your passion and professional approach for all you are sharing on this channel.
We, as viewers, are so lucky to learn so much thanks to you and your team.
Grazie
P.S. thanks for the kind words at the beginning and at the end of this video. We, LRPP fans, have highly appreciated it.
Ineos UK will come back stronger next AC and will be the team to beat. No doubt about it. Ciao
Thank you for the nice words to the italian team. Fair play is everything in sport. Maximum respect for all teams.
Another Kiwi here, love your work. I've learnt a lot watching - thanks very much, and I'm looking forward to your future content.
Well done L.R.; someone has to loose INEOS. Thanks Mozzy Sails for your great analysis, it's been highly valuable and great fun. And really, for all those fans of the INEOS challenge, it's best to loose in that round compared to being annihilated in the actual Cup. And that is especially so for UK teams who despite deserving to win it one time, never got there, and seem to be remembered for loosing badly. This time, I'm not sure who is going to win. It would be easy to say if it's light weather, then LR has a real chance. And that the defenders will win a good breeze. The only issue I have with that prognosis, is that traditionally, a better boat wins in all conditions. As far as I can see, NZ will be more stable in a breeze due to its lower sail plan setup, and also, its lower friction keel. I think its quite possible that LR has become an easier boat to sail (I do not know why but it looks to be the case), and I expect LR to be more manoeuvrable than NZ. The time it will take to get to the line seems also to be a key success factor in these fast boats that need to stay on their foils. A list of strengths and weaknesses would be a fun thing Mozzy! And you are unbiased now. But - it won't help your business! I reckon though your Euro sales should benefit from your contribution, I really hope so. Good luck!! Douglas Linacre
Congratulations LRPP 🥳 ... best team won for sure 🙌🏻🕺🏻🍺
All things considered it was a progressive campaign for GBR (gotta celebrate the wins) ...
~ well funded from the start (thanks Jim!)
~ written off by Christmas (zero>>)
~ performance gains from shed time pre ‘21
~ winners of the RR stage (>>hero)
~ Ratcliffe bromance with ETNZ/ACE ... NZ
~ solidified partnership between helm & tactician
~ Poll position as CoR for AC37
Where did it go wrong?
(Qs for Ineos’ post campaign critique):
First, design fail in the 6.5-10 knot wind range (at least a third of the races so far in this zone). Near killed them in the Christmas Cup, sucked the life outta them in the final.
Second, what went wrong in the shed before the final? That time they fought so hard to bag: felt like their nemesis. Wouldn’t be surprised if the before & after vmg, across the wind range, actually went backwards.
+ doubt we’ll see a boom on Ineos’ AC37 (hint: tfft)
Thanks Mozzy, and all who Sails in her! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I believe and hope that the British will support Luna Rossa against ETNZ for several reasons: because it is better to lose with the winners than with the losers; to bring the competition back to our longitudes; to increase attention and business in Europe around this important event. If Luna Rossa wins, I hope that a French boat will also want to enter the challenge ... because this is the challenge of the greats and no one can ignore this.
@mozzysails The sad thing is that we didn't get to see 13 races! Nevertheless it's amazing that the boats were so close. Well done for great analysis - and for giving up sleep to inform and educate us.
Your channel, analysis and commentary has enhanced watching this competition ten fold.
Big thank you to your ‘team of experts’ and I look forward to more broadcasts. The official commentators are not up to muster. Very limp and just ‘too American’ with their wow adjectives.......
The wind feels strong here today so it's a shame about INEOS's performance on day 2 - they'd have gone well over the next few days. Great comments as always mate, keep it going! You're getting cited in the press here! ETNZ back on the radar.
I would have love to see them both race in higher winds. Oh well.
Well done LR - but I'm still backing NZ to win. Looking forward to your future assessments.
One of the best channel of sailing on CZcams. By Italian I hope you will continue in produce this amazing videos on America's cup. Forza 🇮🇹 ✈️
Thanks for the knowledgeable insight and the cool-headed analysis.
great commentary, as usual GG - Come on LR!!!
@Mozzy Sails wolf you be able to highlight in the next video how many changes LRPP have left in for the modification of their boat, foils, rudder, etc.? Anyway great videos, really shapes observations, well done
Many thanks for all the excellent analysis. Really insightful and very well presented.
Thanks Mozzy!! You always make beautiful analysis!!
Great, deeply insightful commentary - thank you. INEOS could do with hiring some of you guys!
Kia Ora from Auckland . Love your work. We watch every match of the sailing . Amazing to see these rockets out on the water. I’ve been particularly impressed with Sir Ben’s charismatic, diplomatic approach. Apparently ETNZ are looking to sell hosting rights to say Singapore or UAE if successful. Thoughts?
Fantastic videos thanks, it's made the enjoyment of the Prada Cup even more engaging. If Prada win then at last the Cup will be back in Europe and we have a chance to get near the action. My sister lives in Auckland and the word on the street is that if ETNZ win then 2025 might not be in NZ as it's so far away. Dubai? Can't wait for your next analyses on the Cup.
Funny thing I more wait for your videos than actual races :) thanks for that!
Thanks for the great content mate. I’m expecting to see a pretty impressive AC regatta.
If Ineos wants to win the 37th AC there is 3 things it needs to do.
1) Buy TNZ's design team. 2) Buy TNZ's design team 3) yea you got the picture, maybe have Ian Williams on stb helm in a 2 helmsman setup as well.
Of course if LR win the cup substitute LR for TNZ. :-)
Keep up the good work Mozzy Sails
I dont think LR were that much quicker. But thier starts were world-class. Race 6 was insane! Amazed how long they held thier postion before almost colliding and drawing the 40m penalty. Agreed with you. Day 2 killed team UK, Luna Rossa were just ready
Thanks Mozzy... waiting for updates about ETNZ. Forza Luna Rossa ! But it will be so hard
Thanks for your comments Mozzy Sails...very nice. I've appreciate your comment and your video.
Your website is without doubt one of the most informative and knowledgeable on thins yachting. Have really enjoyed your insights into the AC75’s and I hope you’ll continue to give us more great opinions and views on the upcoming AC final.

Thanks Mozz. Yes - please keep your insights coming in the AC.
Thank Mozzy Sail your video is a perfect analysis for all the people that dont understand much about these new boats. Thank's really.
I love your channel Mozzy Sails. Deep, informative, unbiased and accurate comment.
Grazie ragazzi. Fate sempre un ottimo lavoro!
nessun problema! Grazie per aver guardato
Good job with the video. Great fair play. Greetings from Italy. Ciao!
Thank you Mozzy I really appreciate your analysis. Now I just want you to predict a 7-3 for ETNZ so we can get the cup 🤣. I'm joking of course, I'm looking forward to see other races against INEOS in the next America's Cup, you'll come back stronger. Just a question for you. I heard Max Sirena in an interview saying that they maximized the performance of the boat in average wind conditions they expected in Haruaki gulf in these months (6-12 knots he said). Why did INEOS maximize performance for higher wind speed? It sounds a bit strange to me hearing Ben saying that LR has an edge in light wind. I wouldn't call it light, I'd call it average wind. Thank you keep up with your amazing work 😉
I think that, once you've designed your boat with the "maximum possibile speed" concept in mind, tweaking the boat to be more competitive in a more spreaded wind conditions area isn't easy at all. Just like Formula One. You may discover you're stuck in not-in-target performance but for a small range of wind speeds.
Thanks Mozzy - another really incisive vid. Where I hope I'm wrong, I suspect that whoever wins will have too much interest in giving themselves an advantage - by making changes to the design for the next cup. (Let's hope) this development cycle is where INEOS can really make strides - by learning from the design decisions they made during the evolution of their challenge (or the in/out processes that led to them deciding that concepts were likely / unlikely to yield VMG performance).
Very good analysis, but I think another problem for Britannia was that Sir Ben Ainslie was cumulating too many rules. It was more a Ben Aisnlie Team than a Ineos Team .
finally an English, honest and factful opinion, thanks mate !
Grazie mille per le belle parole. Porteremo la Coppa America nella old Europa. Ciao grazie. Forza Ineos
Keep the content flowing, its great to hear..
Great show👍🏽 as are all your sailing videos
Meanwhile, a greeting and a "thank you" for the wish to Luna Rossa.
Team Prada has imposed itself with determination against Ineos but... at the end of the day it's just part of the story. The real one, the most difficult to write has yet to arrive and we know well that it is not a story that can be written with ease for the Italian Team.
I honestly did not expect the Italian boat to increase its "All Round" performance in such an effective way even if I do not deny that I found it very welcome. That said, I don't think at all we'll see the same kind of regattas against the Kiwis...! So I hope that the spectacle of future regattas will still live up to expectations and we will be able to see a great event of sailing sport.
Congratulations to the channel
Greetings from Italy
Well done Martin Fischer and Jimmy Spithill and Prada
Grazie 🙏 and thank you for your work, yours video analisys of the America's cup are so intresting!
Cheers Mozzy!! Great analysis as always. We love these clips and would be thrilled if you have time for more. Have a good week.
Congrats to Team UK for the emotions in this Prada Cup.

Quality, as usual. Thankyou.
Thanks for some great analysis guys...really enjoyed it... and so must have others as you’re up to over 12k subscribers
Can you comment on why Luna Rossa got a penalty for a head start when it looked like they clearly started on time? In the recording they're half a boat length behind the line when the clock is at 00:00, and they already had the penalty before getting to the line.
Is there a short video that shows that clearly?
I think umpires had a software system with more precise spatial references. TV graphics are very approximate. We do not watch at the same frames.
@@zaphodify that's what I thought, but the marks on the water are also very clear and they're not a part of the graphic.
Also, if anyone can explain to me why there is no Port/Starboard penalty on INEOS at that moment, I am genuinely interested. Is this a timing reason? Is there another rule that takes over at that moment ( just like the protected tack close to the boundaries)?
@@antoinev5144 that's a thing i'd like to know too. It seems umpires do not consider rule 10 unless one of the boat sinking. It's dangerous.
Thanks Mozzy, you did a great job with your insights and authentic style. Excellent!
Grazie di tutto.....ti aspettiamo in Italia !
Well done 👍 guys for all the hard work putting the technical analysis and insights together.
Congratulations LR the best boat won and it will be great to see how things square up to NZ and all these rumours of 60knot performance in a breeze!!!
With three years and two boat iterations and lots of foil changes allowed I’m not 100% sure the challenger of record was a big diff for LR. I just think their design team focused on the light airs and with that being the predominant weather at this time in Auckland that has paid off when that was the weather we got.
Fingers crossed Jim R will stay and fund another go for Ineos as there is heaps to learn from this. From rig (no boom / boom under deck); deck height to gain lower sail area; foil shape and lots lots more.
See you in a week of so time.
Hey Brits! Think like Italians :) A few races with 5kt more and maybe now the speeches would be different. Every time the wind blew Giles caught him and LR didn't. In the last 4 races there was only one major wind shift and Ineos won the race. The biggest mistake is Rita in orange on the hull, Ben's boat. Instead it had to be England's boat. The most beautiful image, Jim Ratcliffe sitting next to the helmsman, in the moment of defeat. Thanks Mozzy
the priority is to bring the cup to Europe! If LR had lost, I would have cheered INEOS!
Well done!!! Thanks!
Looking forward to your upcoming analysis on the Finals between Luna Rossa and Emirates Team New Zealand. Safe travels mate-

Hi ! Well Robert’s prediction wasn’t far off the mark. Hope Robert made good money at UK Betfair.
Rob is frighteningly incisive. What is his job I wonder?
@@daves1412 Very impressive CV when you look at the net. I have only one brain cell. Robert has a million.
Thanks for all your analysis - it's been great. Please keep it up!
We need your commentary on the water during the races . I’m sick of hearing “ what’s it like down there Shirley? Oh I don’t know but the Bens boat looks fast”. Yeah. We need some commentary that knows something about these fantastic boats
we sure do.....we listen to the commentary and simply are uninformed regarding conditions, wind, design and crew elements, the whole shebang!!!! I think you could comment the whole race, and we would wait until your race call was up....thank you for your energy, knowledge and delivery!!! From Aussie.
Commentary is a hard job as they must be watching what is unfolding in real time, speaking to it and trying to entertain. I agree that I was left many times wanting more details on the boat setup and crew roles. For example, in the last race, the main on GBR was looking rough and wrinkled. Why? Was it worn? Did it provide more power?
Also, what would prevent GBR team from being able to point more into the wind? Their angle was terrible compared to Luna Rossa. Is that foils? Hull? Poor sailing? sail plan ? More info on when and who sailed together. More historical facts. They should go easy on terms as well since there are many new to the sport and they clearly run out of commentary.
Epic. Please don't stop
Yay a little break then back on with the great videos, thanks for doing them, been timely and great to fill the gaps between races
