This reminds me of when i was a young teenager. I was raised chrisitian until my parents divorced when i was 7. From 7 to 14 I was secular. I was in public schools. Loved science class. Then I was sent to a private christian boarding school for high school. A church leader told our class that AC/DC stood for Anti-Christ/Devil Child. I couldn't contain myself. I burst out laughing and blurted out, "No it doesn't." Everyone turned to look at me. I explained, "It stands for "Alternating Current/Direct Current" Hence the lightning bolt in the middle symbolizing electricity. It is on every amplifier, even the ones we have on that stage behind you.
He changed the subject, but after class, the students went up on stage to check the amplifiers.

The last part of this had me floored. I’d never realized it before, but Seth is so right, the Christian church absolutely has claimed ownership over “community”. We do not have community because of the church, we have community because it’s been programmed into our DNA that we need each other to survive and thrive.

Seth has a great way of getting his point , and story accross.
Not only does he have an awesome orators voice , he is NOT, rude , he doesn't brow best people who are religious. He just has an all around effective way of making his case.
Firstly I am not a religious person, however I was saturated with Christianity from birth , until I became old enough that I refused to go to church , which happened to be 14-15 years old.
I came from the heart of the so called," Bible belt,". In a few weeks I'll be 51 , and I've found that the older I get ,the more I can logically reflect on my culture, family and it's religious beliefs. Looking back , I think the best way to describe the church and religion of my grandparents, parents and what was pushed on my generation was a religion of .,"KEEP THYSELF AND ALL OF YOUR LOVED ONES IGNORANT, WHILST NEVER FORGETTING TO ADMINISTER CONTINUOUS AND MASSIVE DOSES OF GUILT ,SHAME AND INADEQUACY,".
This motto, which was never admitted to ,or heaven forbid spoken , bled over ,into all aspects of life . My father's view on everything aquired , was to label it as a ," SELFISH WANT," According to him , nothing is a need , Of course that applies to me and everyone else , except for him . This is just one of the many psychological , nightmares, that religion served up ,for my sister and I. I could literally write a novel on religions effects , regarding people of Appalachia , and the 50 plus years , it's left them behind.

This presentation opened up an observation about religion I'd never considered, the way it infuses itself into popular culture and then becomes the culture. Point to consider. If something lives on as a copy, is that stealing? Or is it keeping a tradition alive? The buildings in DC are modeled after the Romans, are we "stealing" from the Romans, or are we continuing to work of the Romans?
      Example:
The Japanese martial art style, Shorinji Kempo 少林寺拳法, Shaolin Temple Hand Way. Is it "stealing" a Chinese tradition or is it keeping it alive?

Given that much of Christian tradition, and even Christianity's core beliefs about Jesus, are derived from other systems of belief, it makes sense that, in modern times, Christianity would seek to mimic the culture around it. That is what made Christianity such a successful religion - indeed the most successful religion in all of recorded history. Its Christianity's ability to constantly evolve, while claiming, without a hint of irony, that its ideas are immutable, is what makes this religion so durable. For a religion which has a sizable number of its practitioners denying evolution, there isn't a religion that evolves as much as Christianity.

I was working backstage at a concert back in 1984 or 85 that Stryper was appearing at. It was not an all Christian concert. In fact, Stryper was the only Christian band playing at that venue. I was sent to get one of the bands to remind them about an interview they had agreed to do before they went on stage and accidentally walked into the dressing room being used by Stryper. They were due to go on stage in the next few minutes and were in the middle of a joint prayer to; I guess, psyche them up for their performance. I quickly realized I'd made a mistake and apologized and backed out. They were pretty cool about it. One of them even said that it wasn't a problem and he hoped I'd enjoy the show. I wish I could say they put on a great show, but while they weren't terrible, they were; IMO, pretty generic sounding for an 80's metal band.
I made the mistake of telling of this incident to a cousin of mine who was; and still is, a fervent evangelical Christian. She misinterpreted what I told her and thought I really liked Stryper; as opposed to what I actually said about them being nice guys, when they could have been keyed up, stressed out and not so nice. So, for that Christmas, as a gift she gave me their first album; actually an EP, "The Yellow and Black Attack." I played it once, that was enough.

This reminds me of when I was younger and still going to church but atheist in my own mind, just observing the community I was embedded in with a new point of view..
I went to the christian night at Disney world and noticed this stuff EVERYWHERE. Entire church groups get and/or *make* their own matching knockoff shirts to wear throughout the park. I'm hearing these popular songs that are mutilated into something cringe inducingly generic everywhere. And then, while I'm standing in line with similar minded friends (thankfully), one of the previously described groups around us gradually break into song...
What song? Find me somebody to love. By? Oh, Queen. Just a little band with a singer who is also famously known for being homosexual...
So, come a silence in the early part of the song I spoke aloud as if talking to someone feet away "These christians know he was gay, right?..". All of a sudden the impromptu choir turned to mumbling, the occasional scattered voice, and then pretty much quietness (compared to before).
My best friend and his date were embarrassed at first by their expressions when I spoke up. But once it *actually* turned to silence my friend nearly spit all over trying to hold back his laughter

I think it also bears mentioning that christianity ALSO utterly warps ideas. By that, I mean:
Christianity is supposed to be based on Judaism. Without Judaism, christianity has no creation stories, no creator, no original sin, no 10 commandments and so on... And yet, christianity utterly warps the notions of Judaism into something alien and unrecognisable. For example:
    (1) In Judaism, Satan isn't the enemy of god. He's a loyal servant, obediently following orders (which is just as well, because angels weren't given free will, so it would have been impossible for him to rebel, unless he was ordered by god to do so. Kinda defeats the point).
    (2) There's no concept of eternal punishment in Judaism.
    (3) God is singular and indivisible in Judaism, with no trinity or son, etc... It even mentions that he's supposed to be eternal and unchanging.
    (4) Jesus is not the messiah according to Jewish prerequisites. In fact, not only did Jesus fail to fulfil the requirements of a messiah, so did every other person who proclaimed themselves to be the messiah in those days, too (there were a fuckton of them).
    (5) The prophecies that are supposed to foretell Jesus' coming don't do any such thing. If you read a Hebrew bible translated into English (or your preferred language), the prophecies touted by christians as proof of the divine foretelling of Jesus reveal that Jesus is about as divine as Billy Ray Cyrus and that there are as many prophecies foretelling the coming of one as the other!
    (6) The god of the bible was a god of the Jews, for the Jews and created by the Jews. He didn't give a holy shit about gentiles! He sanctioned their slavery, their genocide and even committed genocide against them personally! He didn't give a fuck about ANYONE but the Jews.
There are a number of other glaring changes and it's for these reasons that I cringe every time I hear someone say "Judeo-Christian." I'm neither christian nor Jewish, yet I know enough about both religions to know that christianity isn't an addition to Judaism, it's a complete rewrite of Judaism!

DataGuy before you start romanticizing and claiming that you understand the words of the Hebrew, you should definitely understand that God has no chosen people in the first place. The Jews were treated bad as well. But that was because they rebuked God and his commandments to keep peace in the world that he is so created.
The Babylonians check the Jews in to deceiving them and making them believe that they have to worship their gods and goddesses.
For example the Babylonian queen so-called goddess who is deceived by Lucifer himself, Lucifer had promised her that he would help her become a goddess if she sold her soul to him. She was soon deemed queen of heaven, she had a son Tammuz, he died the day he became a hunter. A wild pig had killed him.
She decided to make a ritual and create her own calendar, to remember her son Tammuz. The holiday is known as Easter.
Easter taught the people of Babylonian beliefs a.k.a. religion of the world of man, not of God as an Yeshua, To literally sacrifice babies and kill them and drink their blood
They would sacrifice these babies drink their blood and put their blood on the babies. They covered these babies with blood, as a sacrifice and remembrance to tabbies which is the Samaritan goddesses son. The queen of heaven decided that every ritual they had they would have what’s called a sex orgy ritual, The woman would bake cakes and give it to the queen of heaven in reward to defile their bodies as prostitutes in the temple. So many women had sex with upon many men for the sexual ritual....
And the whole point of changing the calendar which the queen of heaven a.k.a. Lucifer allowed to happen, Was for those prostitutes to conceive children on the day her son Tammuz was born. Once those babies were born they would do the same thing all over again and on Easter they would sacrifice the babies a.k.a. murder them drink their blood and cover their blood all over the babies bodies.
Rabbit was a symbol of fertility, and so God took down this temple because it was no longer pure it no longer was good, Lucifer has deceived all those people.
And when God questioned them they turned away from him because he knows their hearts.
Jews were part of the action, and the ones that decided to partake in the action were either persecuted anyways, since they were majorly looked down upon, or they decided to follow the footsteps of the Babylonians as in man’s law not God’s law. And therefore were deceived by Satan.
The Trumpets are very close to being blown, and if you wish to partake in the world, then that is your choice because God gave us free will.
He gave us a brain and a heart and two hands and 10 fingers and two eyes and two ears in a mouth and a nose for a beautiful reason.
But the devil has deceived many into using their body for his will and not of Gods.
And so your mind is being deceived, it doesn’t matter what you say.
It doesn’t matter what you think. It doesn’t matter what you hear.
It doesn’t matter what you choose to perceive or what you perceive.
It doesn’t matter the color of your hair the color of your skin the color of your eyes the color of your fingernails either.
The devil is disguised as light a peaceful light.
The way you think is normal, but the truth that is not believed is normal.
      You are being deceived. Big-time.
You will soon know the truth, The Truth Will Set You Free.
The reason you do not believe in the prophets or the prophecies of anything or anyone even God himself, is because the devil has tricked your mind.
He has brainwashed you into thinking the normal as normal, and so he’s able to make you turn the pages of the ones you really need to read to find the truth.
The truth that will set you free.
He is a trickster that is what he does that is what he is good at
He deceives those that have not excepted God, as in the creator of the heavens and the earth.
Overtime he taps on your shoulder until one day you can’t take no more, you bleed out and look for the truth, you look for the truth, you listen to the lies of the world.
Do you think that you listen to your own intuition, but your intuition is sin, so how can I be of your own intuition?
      God is coming very soon.
For he’s so loved the world, that he gave himself to us, so we could be with him for eternity. In the most beautiful peaceful place you could ever dream think you can’t even fathom.
You have chosen to leave the believe of God, because he is so powerful and awesome and truly merciful and loving and magnificent, And because you were washed away by the sin of the devil, it is impossible for you to imagine such a thing, because the devil is nothing but lies and lies and lies.
I’m going to pray for you tonight. I’m going to pray for many people tonight.
Because I don’t want people to go to hell, I want people to be loved by God and live in the truth not the lies of this world.
There’s many Christians that are not saved, there is many Catholics that are not saved, there is many Buddhists that are not saved, there is many Hindus that are not saved
There is many Muslims that are not saved, there is many pagans that are not saved, there is many atheists that are not saved.
Mark of the beast is very real, and those who choose not to believe it will receive the wrath of God.
It is not an actual beast coming out of the water, it is the authority of the world coming together as one, as MAN.
Atheist Christians Catholics pagans Buddhist Hindus Babylonians pathologists Egyptians Romans Muslims
Jews. Not all Jews will be saved. 97% of the world at least will be deemed in hell for eternity, and the other percent will have the seal of Yeshua.
This is not a matter of thanking him and being Mr. atheist that is the thinker and processor anymore.
It’s not a matter of doubt in doubting and gossiping and making fun and judging other people in their religions.
Because in the end we are all the same, we all have a heart we all have a brain two hands and 10 fingers and two eyes and two ears in a mouth and a nose for a beautiful reason.
We all have a conscience, but we also do you have free will.
It’s up to you what happens, but if you except God in your hearts and ask him for forgiveness and repent,
The Truth Will Set You Free
For God so loved the world that he sent himself to deliver us from our sins, I say to you that I love you as well very much.
I love everyone here because everybody has a heart and everybody has a brain and everybody was created in the image of God.
And therefore nobody should judge one another but love one another.
The only way the prophecies in the Commandments itself is kept in tact is by unconditional love.

By definition they were primitive compared to us, as we will likely be compared to people in the distant future.
And no age does not make something untrue, but it does not make it true either. And since almost nothing in those books can be shown to be true, and much is known to be false,
And you are wrong about IQs being lower. Overall, they have been rising slightly - at least in the developed world.
And we have no good evidence of any Christian who could possibly have known if the events even in the gospels were true. We have unconfirmed STORIES about the apostles, who, if they were what they are claimed to be could at least potentially have known. And most of the Christians we know to have been tortured and killed would not likely have believed what you do, because it was mostly the Gnostics and not the more orthodox Christians who were persecuted.
But of course, people have died for all sorts of crazy beliefs that they were sure were true - just in my lifetime. So that to me is evidence of human gullibility - not the truth of any claim.

    • @Akihito007
      @Akihito007 Před 7 lety

Mostly the gnostics?!? What crap are you reading?!? Whatever it is, it sure isn't history or backed up by anything in church history. Honestly the absolute radical skepticism of atheists, who suppress the Truth while lying about the NT not being "reliable" when it's the most historically accurate and closest written to actual events from ALL the writings we have from ancient history. Atheist skeptics sure don't make good ancient historians since if we applied their views onto the rest of history, we wouldn't be able to know anything until the invention of the printing press. All these writings from the Church Fathers, much not even translated into English, but none of that matters because of what some stupid, smug atheist says on a 3rd rate blog or website, acting as if Christians are "stupid" while saying patently false things like this guy in the video says. This foolish man even made the stupid attack in another video, mocking the Bible as the "Good Book" because it had bad stuff in it. Well DUH, men are totally depraved sinners and it has historical accounts of bad men doing bad things. That'd be like me saying Shelby Foote book on the Civil War is "evil" cause it talks of war and people getting shot.

I am well aware that from day one to today, Christians like to see themselves as horribly persecuted. And early on they were to a degree. But even before Constantine, there is evidence in Roman writings that indicates that orthodox Christianity was reasonably tolerated by the authorities. And why not? The New Testament reads like a dictator's wet dream! If I had been a Caesar, my thought would be, "Damn! If I could get everybody to believe this, I would have it SO easy!"
It teaches pacifism, turning the other cheek when wronged, not repaying evil with evil, slaves obey your masters, render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's (i.e. pay your taxes), obey Earthly authorities because god gave them the sword to do that which is right. Don't worry about your financial status, or envy the rich and powerful! Even the Roman who presided over the killing of Jesus was painted as a good guy, and the Jews (who were always a thorn in the side of Rome) painted as the bad guys!
It is a blueprint for creating a nation of willing serfs! No wonder the Romans adopted it! Some even contend that the Flavian Emperors CREATED it! That would fit with how many of the early saints were of the Flavian line.
You are a fool. Most of the really awful stuff in the Bible is stuff that was supposedly directly commanded or done by god.

Yeah, and I never thought the music of either of them was particularly pro or anti religion... Also, look through the list in the screenshot that Seth shows on that slide... Lots of hate for Enya. Why?

I remember listening to you on the radio back in the day. Now listening to you as an informed adult , it is so refreshing.
Thank you and Aron Ra for spreading the truth.

This is why I tell fundamentalist christians that before they get their CHURCHY ANESTHESIA (so they don't have to face what they actually feel & think)....That they need to go to a casino & gamble their tithes, because that way they have a chance of getting something back.
