AWESOME Fish Stickers ► geni.us/fishstickers
Might have to trim some roots in the tree.
*sigh* Thanks for listening for me idiot...but i like the plecos more
I did until my fish got bored.
@aquapros what is the tree in back of your tank called and will a planted tank similar to yours benefit my cory cats.and my tiger barbs right now i have a sand substrate for them
+Ruthless Gaming sand is cute when you can run CO2 but it's rude when you can't
I don’t even own fish or a tank, but here I am... 12am... finding this in my recommendeds... avoiding sleep...
Glad your shrimp acclimated properly though!
El Tigre Del Norte same 11:57
Same here but this makes me want to start
That’s how I ended up with a new 20 gallon tank
Get a tank.
You will not regret it.
But do you research first, learn about the Nitrogen/ Ammonia cycle, biofilters and avoiding chlorinated and flourinated water when cleaning your filters/sponges
A dark background would fit this tank. The bright colours would stand out so much more.
I can't get an aquarium so I like to watch videos with aquariums and this is the kind of aquarium I want to have 👍👍👍
GksHighfalutinTube Experiences why can’t you?
@@aviationlover6266 Probably the same reason as me. Parents. 💀💀
But it's all good bc I'm gonna be moving out soon.😜
You will.
@Sebastian Banister are you crazy?
That sucks. My dad always had a tank and then I got my own 10 gallon for my room with his and my mom's approval. I now as an adult with my own kids have 6 freshwater planted tanks with community fish and red cherry shrimp as well as pink and brown ramshorns snails running today, a walstad jar, a leopard gecko, a bearded dragon, a crayfish tank, and 4 cats. We love animals over here. My youngest who just turned 8 on the 22nd just started her own 5 gallon. She has guppies, killi fish, pink ramshorns snails, and red cherry shrimp as well as plants and Manzanita wood. She has this idea of using her marimo balls on the tips of the tree branches to makes it more life like.
Wow, I love watching the shrimp work! This might have sealed the deal with me jumping back in to the tank world.
The SAE are great for algae and as long as you've got fish in which don't eat the shrimp then the Amano shrimp are a great solution too.
Florida flag fish are a great one for algae too but they can be nippy little buggers so they're no good with small fish and shrimps.
Groovy.
Very cool! I like that you drip acclimated but you can hit those amanos upside the head with a brick and not kill them, super hardy and tough shrimp! And they get big too! Amazing tank✌️
Great information! We have a small tank with Black Beard Algae, 9 Amano shrimps, 2 Siamese Algae Eaters and a few other fish. By far, yours has been the best video I’ve found on dealing with algae! Subbed!
13 cherry shrimp transformed my ten gallon over night, I was blown away.
Oh wow! The driftwood(?) with plants tacked on to look like tree leaves is the neatest idea I've seen since the sand waterfall. Good job.
Fun fact: The type of diadromous (part freshwater, part marine) life cycle that amano shrimp and some other freshwater shrimp (e.g. Macrobrachium spp.) have is called "Amphidromy" which specifically describes the need for the larval form to develop at first in saltwater then move to freshwater to complete its life cycle.
Nice looking tank! I have BN plecos in most of my tanks but I think the direction you took your tank is a better option for that set-up.
Have Amanos in a planted 40 g breeder tank. Just added 3 Rainbow Gobys to help the shrimp with algae control. The Goby's primary source of food is the bio film on everything, including algae. Amazing non stop workers. Great vid!
Nice spotlight vid on the Amano Shrimps and their huge algae appetites. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the great vid. I'm having an issue with algea in one of my tanks so this is helpful. 😊
Gotta love them Amano Shrimp gawd they’re straight Algae eating machines lol another banging video braddah much love and aloha🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽
You keep popping up in all these comment sections dude
Randomly went to a pet store, ended up coming home with a beta. now i have a 55 gallon empty tank. now am crash course learning. very entertaining and informative!
Priya Morin get java moss! Really hardy plants that dont need substrate
hi Aquapros, what is your carpet plant name? how long is it lifespan? some people said it only up for couples of months
Thanks for the video. I'm sure this will be a big help for me in the future
Tadpoles still the one for me. I learned that on my local aquatic plant farm. They are costless and by the time they turn frogs sell them or breed so that they could produce another spawn.
Beautiful tank, plants, and fish! I'm definitely getting some of those algae eaters and shrimp. They're hard workers! Lol. New sub here.
Wow! I did not realize the Amono shrimp are a Takashi Amano namesake. So cool! 😃
I had a 120g planted tank with cardinals rummy nose and embre tetras love it and all the fish got along
An aquapro video! Good day good day! Tanks looking sweet mike.
That is a really beautiful aquarium. You must spend a lot of time with water changes etc. It is a very interesting video to watch.
i know this video is old but dang do i love fish and setups and you are an inspiration for what i will do wish tanks next semester!
I think its mainly because your plants are growing quite well. Anyway, I'm intrigued that your livestock can be shipped without any air pocket in the bag or anything for them to cling onto during the transport
Gorgeous tank! Looks great!
Beautiful tank! Thank you for sharing.😃
I really loved you design. Simple & beautiful.
Awesome aquascape! I just used your code and got 10 Amano shrimp! Thanks!
What did you end up doing for the fertilizer schedule? Looks like more potassium may have been helpful
Have you tried putting the c02 outlet under the filter outlet so the water and c02 completely mix together throughout the tank? Might help keep down the tanks algae, I have found this works for me.
What u use on ur tree and ur floor of the tank?
Hi Bro! Just a quick question on planting carpets using poting soil as dirt. Keeping literate on first level from below, then using poting soil, then fine or powder of poting soil. I am going to use additives stage wise and liquid fertilizers and nutrients with pressureised CO2. Please advice and comments are appreciated. Rgds.
It was awesome meeting you in Chicago, Mike.
+Flynn's Fish Forum likewise my friend 😁
this is a timely video for me haha. mind made up, thank you!!
i dont think ive ever drip aclimated one of my fresh water fish or floating method i just put the m in the tank after 15 minuites and they seem fine but i do drip aclimate my salt water fish
How do you keep your glossos firmly planted? My tank turned into a floating mess :(
this is a world I never knew existed.
Looks awesome! About to do a community tank I'm gunna add cherry shrimp for sure
Nice work, Thanks
I could swear it was king of DIY
I have a 210gal planted tank that I messed around with for two years trying to get the hair algae out of the tank but pulling it didn't work, turning off the lights failed, herbicides only worked for a couple of weeks before the algae returned. Last month I went to the local fish store and bought what they had labeled flying foxes but which appear to be siamese algae eaters. I placed six in the tank and within two weeks you couldn't find a trace of hair algae. I even had a couple of fine leaved artificial plants at the back of the tank that were overgrown and you could see the fish swimming in and out of the leaves picking out bits of algae. My water returns at the surface had hair algae growing on them at the surface and you could see the algae eaters swimming up and tugging the hair algae off the return tubes until they had gotten it all. I'm beginning to think three or four would have been enough to clean the tank but who cares as long as they keep it from coming back. In the meantime they seem to eat flake food and my homemade fish food that contains spinach in the mix along with going over live plant leaves in the tank.
Amazing Aquarium your built just motivated me
Hi. Coukd you recommend a good light for planted 5.5 gal? Having a hard time. Would like one that will dim on and off and not be greater than 7000k. Currently have one from Ebay is a no name with all the colours, but can only have all 4 colors on blue. I have a nerite, bladder snails and one remaining ghost shrimp. Any advice would be appreciated.
Not far off 100 thousand subscriber's Mike. Well done!
+Nicholas clifton Thanks Nicholas :)
Have you tried otos to control algae in a planted tank? Works like charm for me so far.
This is the first time that I have ever watched any of your videos. I am very interested in having a shrimp tank. I very much enjoy your video and look forward to seeing more.
Thank you for the heads up on Flip Aquatics. They have great prices and I have never seen so many different shrimp.
Do you have a good place to get plants for the tank? Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you
Wow the tank is amazing! Y’all fish livin better then meh.
Your aquarium looks great. It's awesome.
wow that tank looks awesome
What type of anubius did you use to make the leaves on your little tree in the 33gal?
that tank looks beautiful Mike!..... rummynose would look really cool in there man!!!.....add the rummies!!!
Amano shrimp goes huge. With 50 shrimp and the tank size.... im not sure if that ok. You should get RCS or something colorful instead since they don't grow like Amano Shrimp.
Would you recommend the finnex stingray for a 10 gallon tank? Trying to grow a glosso carpet. Going to be my first run at a planted tank
Love the tank!
This tank is so simple but that tree is amazing and the carpet is awesome. What’s the carpet plant?
Glossostigma elatinoides I think
Montecarlo
Underwater potato
I know this is super late but it also could be dwarf baby tears
Glosso.
Love your planted floor of the tank!
This is the same algae crew i am working on building up!! My faves
I think the tank might look better if you put a black background on it.
A dark background would really bring out the colours of the plants and the fish.
A mirror would be a good choice too.
I would like more planting aswell. Maybe some sort of rock feature and the topography should change aswell!
Adam Ewart - Just like assholes, everyone has an opinion. Cheers!
I was thinking like a dark blue, purple, black, green painted background. Blending all of the colors Bob Ross style :)
I've always painted the back medium blue, looks great in fresh and saltwater.
Looking good now, im getting amanos for my new set up
Great video
Very nice Aquarium! Thump up!
Hey Aquapros, what are those plants in that aquarium,i'm inspired slightly to do something like that with my ember tetras and where'd you get that wood from?
Nice tank and with the mini-tree it all looks like a world but with fish flying around..
Beautiful aqua scape
What aquascape?
this tank is so beautiful
Where do you get your plants?
Wow they look pretty big in size. Nice great video thank you
This is stunning.. im new to the hobby but cant wait until i am able to properly be able to handle things like this.. stunning. what type of tree is that?
My tetras immediately flipped upside during its routine tank cleaning and not sure how to fix that issue
Great video!
I have 4 Amano shrimp that I've had for almost 3 years now. They are incredibly hardy and great at cleaning algae. In my experience they are tougher than Ghost Shrimp!
Great follow up! I'm currently working down some (staghorn i think? ) in my 38 gallon.
I'm low tech but just started light exce dosingl to get the val used to it. Trying not to nuke anything lol.
How many should I have in a heavily planted 10 gallon?
I have 2 apple snails in it right now, but I was wondering how many amano shrimp i should order.
Your videos are great !!
are armano's good for outdoor mini ponds or too sensitive?
Are those the same as grass shrimp because I catch those where I live and they work great as well
I love Amano shrimp. I won't have a tank without them.
Good stuff there👍
Lovely Shrimps would not mind getting some
Thank you
Omg love that tank so green so natural so cool
Is co2 better than just an air stone, Or would both be good to use?
What is the plant called that's covering the bottom of the tank
NINKI MANJAJ
discus would look amazing in this tank
Hi! I'm new to all this. I just wanted to ask, after acclimating the shrimp, what do you do with the water? Do you get rid of it or do you introduce it back in the tank? I appreciate any tips and help!
Lrod Photography ..,. I would use it to water my indoor plants. Lots of goodness in that water for plants...
Cool video :)
I have 20 gallon tank with cichlids in it and i have to clean it at least every other weekend of heavy green brown algae no live plants can i put snails or fresh water shrimp in the tank with the fish
What kind of light are u using .??dose you use read light?. Plz ans it!
Can’t you also put they bag they’re in and put it in the tank and let it reach the same temperature and also add a little bit of of the tank water to the bag they’re in too? Or is this something you have to do or is this another of many ways to acclimate?
Checked your affiliates site. So OP lol. Lucky to be 3 minutes from an awesome fish store. Great video though. Definitely will be getting my hands on these.
Such a nice tank!
Do you still need to change the water and how often do you need to do it?
I havent acclimated my crystal reds at all. I "O'leary-ed" them: open bag, empty over net, and immediately in the tank. 37 shrimp added, 0 losses. Just a FYI
Wow very beautiful Amanos, why are they so blue, Amanos I've seen before always were greyish? Greetings from Germany
I think it's the lighting.
R.I.P. AMANO❤
I have two and they are great. I haven’t had algae in forever. (Probably because the tank doesn’t have a light)
You got Bladder/Tadpole Snails, do you really want them? I crush mine between tweezers and the Corys love them.
My cookies love crushed snails a la glass!
What plants do you have that cover the bottom of the tank?
