Me and my wifey roll in a S class and we know first hand you never take a Mercedes to a random mechanic, they automatically think you have plenty of cash to spend on fixing it and will try to rip you off, doesn't mean you are rich cuz you own one, some folks worked for years to own one or maybe it was a gift from a family member? Anywayz tho ya there's some crooked ass Mechanic's out there so be careful 💯

A possibility is that the mechanic was diagnosing the problem by removing the spark plug on #4 to test compression but forgot to reconnect it. He was probsbly also trying to test each coil pack to eliminate an ignition problrm. The fuel pump was probably operational at the time so he was unable to diagnose the fuel pump. The daughter probably had to go to yoga and put pressure on the mechanic to finish quickly.

These are well built cars. But you have to know what to look for. There’s plenty out there. So do your research thoroughly and be patient. The latter years of this body style are the best.
I have a 2004 mercedes benz c240 and it still misfires I changed coils sparkplug ignition wires maf sensors crankshaft sensors and I still have the misfires and my engine light starts flashing and the car starts driving horrible
And I was told I needed to change the cats so I did and it still has the problem I work on mercedes but this one been giving me a Lil challenge
How about fuel rail? Fuel injectors?

Hello anyone know if this car is a good purchase ? I got into an accident and totaled my Accord. My neighbor has this same Mercedes and can sell me it for a low price. Any ideas on how reliable this car is?
They are very reliable. I see them here in Ohio with over 200k miles all the time. Just go through the car thoroughly. Drive it easy. Drive it hard. Check all switches. Investigate all warning lights. It’s an easy luxury car to maintain. Parts are cheap compared to other Mercedes’ models. Check transmission performance. It should be very smooth and sporty feeling. Engine should be quite and smooth. Check for leaks under motor. How much?? $$$

You’re correct. I can’t say with absolute certainty that this mechanic purposely did so. But I do know for a fact that this type of thing occurs, with ill intent.

@@goldelementautoworks yeah they call it a gearbox scam they put incompatible fluid then stick wires in your fuse box which overheats the box then they say you need a new one I just thought to check and changed fluid to thicker one. They usually are working with a parts dealer. I also heard the ticking as well car kept breaking down etc plug it back in no issues for months
