@wmlbrown I saw them live when they opened up for Marilyn Manson and they actually took the God of Fuck down a notch. When they are live, you only hear the leading lady's voice. She's got some serious talent. Music videos use the completed studio production version of the song played in a background track with the vocals lip synched and the instruments mocked. So you are right, the band is indeed lip synching but that's what everyone does. I suggest you read a book sometime in your life.
I hate those trendy quick cutting and montage film effects. Just show the band playing! Then we could tell who is (or isn't) singing the back up vocals. It's a trio, 2 guys and a girl. So where's the other female voice coming from? Is it pre-recorded? Maybe the band's lip-synching the whole thing. Maybe that's why the quick cutting and montage effects - so you can't tell they are cheating.
