  • A quick review of these "perfect fit" Venetian blinds from Blinds-2go. They really are perfect! 😁 Order online with a few basic measurements which are explained simply on the website, unboxed, assembled and fitted in half an hour, including time to film it.
    One top tip, if you have a long window or door requiring extra clips in the middle, put the brackets on top and bottom corners of window first, before assembling blind, then offer up the vertical extrusion on its own to get the correct position for the middle clip, without having to support and possibly damage the whole blind.
    I would thoroughly recommend these, good quality, simple to assemble and fit, prompt delivery and an absolute bargain! Also make the room seem larger with the extra space gained from removing curtains/poles/ normal bulky blinds.
    Hope this helps.

      I was a bit sceptical when I saw their advert, seemed too good to be true, but we took a chance and were really pleased with them. We've now done the living room, kitchen and a set of French doors. Can't believe how cheap they were compared to other options! ( The dog looks great, but he's rubbish at DIY..)

      not sure without measuring mine, which I will try to remember to do later. think it gives you a dimension on the measuring guide on the website, from memory. we were a bit borderline with handle placement measurements, but ok when actually fitted.

      They pop back out really easily, you just push in the retaining lump on the 4 brackets and they slide straight off. You might need something a bit harder than your finger to push the clip back, but it's a simple job that takes a few seconds

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před 24 dny +1

      @@asmahassan1422 measurements are easy to take, follow the guidelines on their website. Basically, you just measure the glass between the black rubber bits. Take a couple of measurements each window, side to side and top to bottom and put the numbers into the website and they should come out the right size, as long as you've followed the instructions. We found it very simple.

    Please may I have some advice.
    I'm struggling if the bracket can squeeze into the rubber seal of my windows. I'm even trying gently with cutting knife but it seems that the seal is very tight to the beading. Should I just push it harder? Thank you

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před rokem +1

      Mine were very tight, but use some water mixed with fairy liquid type dishwashing soap and don't try to push them straight in, start with a corner and sort of slide them in to position. If they are really still too tight, then maybe check if a lubed up credit card will slide in first, to loosen the seal. Hope that helps

    Bit of an ignorant question from me, but are we supposed to be jamming things between the window frame and the gap? Isn't it made that way for insulation?

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před 2 lety

      Good question. I assume if you ask the window manufacturers they'd say no, but in practice it's fine. The inside of the window is the "warm" side of the glass/unit so it's still sealed on the outside and around the edges and everywhere else, so you effectively just deform the rubber locally in 4 small areas inside the house, so there is no issue with heat transfer/draught in practice. Obviously, that's just my opinion. Hope that helps

    How did you measure for these blinds, did you measure from outside edge of bead to outside edge of bead etc..hooe that makes sense

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před 11 měsíci +1

      From memory, you measure across the glass from one edge of the rubber to the other edge of rubber, so just the visible section of glass. The website has a good measuring guide on it which we followed. Please check that to be certain and don't rely on my memory, it's been a while!

    Hi Neil, great video. How well would you say the perfect fit Venetian style blinds block light? Difficult to tell but it looks decent on the right hand window you closed at the end of the video.

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, sorry for delay in replying. They're pretty good at blocking light. Obviously not perfect as there are holes for the strings to go through, but we have the complete downstairs of our house done with them now and don't use any curtains or anything else. You can see bits of light if a car goes by etc but only tiny amounts which sort of depends what's outside your windows also. When funds allow, we will probably do all the bedrooms too, as they're so neat and tidy. Relatively easy to clean too and can be popped out of the clips to clean the window and frame behind easily. Hope that helps

    These look really clean and professional. My place has newly fitted windows and there doesn't seem to be any give between the rubber seal & glass.... I feel like I'd be damaging the window if I attempted to slide anything in. Any ideas on this? Thinking perhaps I need a professional to come out and assess the windows or is this normal in your opinion.

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před 2 lety +1

      the brackets do feel tight when fitting into the rubber. any sort of lubrication makes it much easier. I would suggest looking on the blinds to go website at their fitting instruction video, which explains how to check if your window is suitable. from memory, it's trying to slip the corner of a credit card between rubber and glass, but it's a while since I did it so please check carefully.

      Hi, not quite. There are all the little slots that the strings run through, so there is a small amount of light that gets through, but not enough that it bothers us. If you're looking for blackout blinds, these particular ones probably aren't good enough. Hope that helps

    • @noelkrusty_
      @noelkrusty_  Před rokem

      From memory, the top and bottom are pushed together and the cord is wound around one set of end corner pieces, locking them together. You can see this on my video just after I take them out the bubble wrap. Once unwound from the corner brackets, you can open them out to fit the sides

      Do you know what, I've never really noticed that until now! You're quite right though, there is a slight difference. I would say that on our windows, the corner bits are nearer to what the window frames are, than the blind frames. Notice it more in our living room where the blinds are white also, don't notice it as much in the kitchen/dining room with the grey blinds. I still really like them though after almost 2 years. Hope that helps and good luck with yours!

      @noelkrusty_  Před rokem +1

      We went for a grey that was similar to our kitchen worktops. We have white in other rooms. One thing worth knowing about the darker colours, they heat up with the sun on them, so if we have a lie in at weekends and it's nice and sunny, you can really feel the heat on the room near to the windows.
