Seeing the treatment of Saka, Rashford and Sancho, England deserved to lose - and that's before you consider some of the other controversies like fans breaking into Wembley, stewards being assaulted, laser pointers, booing national anthems and players taking a knee etc.
Saka didn't ruin his life. Some English 'fans' will hate him and remember him for this one moment, true English fans will remember why Southgate put him in the starting XI for most of the tournament. Seeing the treatment of Saka, Rashford and Sancho, England deserved to lose - and that's before you consider some of the other controversies like fans breaking into Wembley, stewards being assaulted, laser pointers, booing national anthems and players taking a knee etc.
Saka didn't ruin his life. Some English 'fans' will hate him and remember him for this one moment, true English fans will remember why Southgate put him in the starting XI for most of the tournament. It will hurt for the rest of his life I'm sure, but we need to come together and thank him for helping us get as far as we did

Southgate is still the right man for England. We haven’t recorded this well in tournaments in decades, but the penalty criticism is valid.
