  • Pandit Jasraj’s rendition of the early morning raga, Bhatiyar will rejuvenate you. This is a weave of several melodies, drawing on both classical and folk music. The many colours that glow on the horizon just before sunrise seem to be reflected in this raga, Sandhi prakash ragas, or ragas of the time when darkness meets light, originate from the use of the flattened komal rishabh and komal dhaivat. It includes a sarod rendition of raga Mian-Ki-Todi, a creation of Miyan Tansen by Amjad Ali Khan.

People are saying koi nahi hai apna doesn't feel good for a morning song. But try to see good in it too. It's like, you only have to do your work, toil, etc. Nobody will help you unless you help yourself. If each one of us try to do good work, that sapna of yours will come true. This is what I want to get out of this. The intended meaning doesn't matter much but the perceived meaning is more important to each person. Positive positive! Stay positive do good work guys!

Rajiv Krishna ji, I agree, it creates a negative and some what melancholic feeling, but hats off to your positive approach 👍. I would suggest you to listen to the "Sur Sangam " which also is in the same raag and the song goes like this :"aayo prabhat sab mil gao, bajao, hari ko rijhao "-height of positivity, hope and joy.

Thank you for translating the lyrics into English. The singing sounds melancholic - a longing of sorts. The mood feels more like evening than morning - and ending rather than a beginning brimming with the promise of a new day. Beautiful by any account.

Pandit Jasraj puts so much feeling in the song "Koi nahin hai apna" that it haunts you long after the song is finished.Apart from his obvious technical virtuosity, which makes his song a gem.One of the few remnanants of the Old Guard, he underscores the fact that "old is gold."
