Here's a video of Nik West & Hannah Ford Welton around the age of 20-21. They both went on to do great things after this collaboration. Hannah is the drummer for Prince's 3rdEyeGirl and Nik has charted on the billboard charts, appeared on Glee, was a special guest on American Idol, traded musical ideas with Prince, shared the stage with John Mayer, Dave Stewart and Bootsy Collins. Nik I came across this video while looking through some Prince and some of Hannah's vids... Im a metal head, and let me tell you the grooves in this clip are making my skin crawl! Gorgeous gorgeous GORGEOUS!!! Mindblowing!

Somehow i don't really feel much groove from the Drummer.
If Nik West hired her then she must have something I'm not hearing. If we can't be honest with each other as musicians about the sound then what's the point of cultivating different talents but for me the drum grove sounds generic. I really don't mean to sound negative.It has nothing to do wth gender(which would render me a hypocrite from my previous comment) but just seems like there were more factors at work then just talent that got this young lady this gig. Best of luck however on the tour.
dashboard spiritual I think a lot of the crap she receives is due to this being recorded with a generic mic in crappy acoustics, which makes the uncompressed drums sound like a mess.
why does she always play on such craply tuned drums!!!
