I don’t think it is a good idea to do a room in her house because it’s going to be a heartbreaking reminder of the trauma. Other people would find it a comfort to sit in there but for Katie I’d be I’d think she’d avoid it due to trauma and due to ocd. I think she finds the room too loud for her mind. OCD suffers can find patters and certain colours stressful which is why Katie maybe prefers her light colour walls. It’s true that a cluttered room or house makes a cluttered mind. Ridding your home of clutter and items you’ve been hoarding helps clear your mind…it’s a fact. You don’t need material things to be reminded of your past, it’s in memory and you can visit that anytime. Katie it seems can’t manage a massive house full of her life long achievements and furniture, it’s too much for one person to manage. A team of cleaners and organisers is what she needs every week to keep her house in tidy order and not let her start hoarding again. Just imagine how long it would take to clean the floor alone!
