I've listened to several interviews with Litwa on other channels. You guys did great! Came prepared! Subscribed
16:10 (Litwa’s so good on philosophy of history, it seems he is primarily thinking of Christian evangelical types but I bang my head against the wall with antitheists about this stuff all the time)
33:00 Litwa on the gospels as cultural memory
“Ustadh” Wesam 😂 lord have mercy
What's funny?
@@axis2312 he ain’t no “ustadh” plz
@@anzajamaa5001 That's rich coming from someone who doesn't know basic English. It's clearly a term of endearment in this context by the owner of the channel. Wesam has never claimed to be an expert in anything but he is very well read and continues to study comparative religion masha'Allah. Speak kindly about your muslim brother
@@axis2312 I do know English 😂💀 doesn’t change what I said. I never claimed to be an Ustadh.
If the history from the Gospel can't be reliable, what about the quran when its talking about Jesus, but came 400+ years later.... A chain of narration that starts from someone 400 years later can't be more trustworthy then lol
Ps: according to the Quran Jesus was at least a prophet who was the spirit FROM God. So as a Muslim you are actually shooting yourself in the bals with this interview.
Just because the Quran came 400 years after Jesus doesn’t automatically make it less reliable than the Gospels. Here’s why:
1. **Dating and Preservation**:
- The Gospels were written between 70-100 years after Jesus. They’re based on oral traditions and earlier sources.
- The Quran, revealed to Muhammad between 610-632 CE, is considered by Muslims to be the direct word of God, carefully preserved and unchanged.
2. **Chain of Narration**:
- The Quran’s transmission was through rigorous memorization and preservation methods, making it highly reliable according to Islamic tradition.
- The Gospels were written by different authors, and there are variations among them. Scholars often debate their exact sources and authorship.
3. **Trustworthiness**:
- The Quran is believed by Muslims to be a divine correction of previous scriptures, including the Gospels, ensuring an accurate account of Jesus’ life.
- Many Christians accept that the Gospels, while early, reflect the beliefs and theological agendas of different communities.
4. **Interpretation**:
- The Quran respects Jesus as a prophet and messiah but not divine, fitting within Islamic theology of strict monotheism.
- The Gospels present Jesus as divine, focusing on his crucifixion and resurrection, which are central to Christian faith.
So, saying the Quran is less reliable because it came later ignores how it was preserved and its role in Islamic faith. It’s not just about the timeline, but also how each text is understood and valued in its own religious context.
That's like saying Moses can't talk about Abraham due to no chain, the thing is your Gospel writers are not writing history they are writing theology, they are greek writers who can very well make up dialogue
