    Do you worry about fase issues between the direct mic(s) and the room mike?

      I am always aware of how it affects the direct sound so in a way, yes. Many people point room mics toward the kit instead of away from it. So they become distant drum mics or ambient mics. When they are pointed away (cardiod patter) the direct signal is rejected and phase issue become less of a problem.
