I dated a food pusher. He actually got mad when I didn't eat what he wanted, when he wanted. To avoid conflict I ate even when I didn't want to. I gained 20 pounds! I broke up with him and am now losing weight...although painfully slowly.
I realize I need to have boundaries! Especially if it effects my health and my weight!

I found if you tell people that you are gluten intolerant they leave you alone. When I tell them I do Keto I get the 3rd degree on the damage I am doing, so I just tell people I am gluten intolerant.

After years of these conversations I simply say "no thanks that upsets me"! Any questions after that are "kinda personal".

Eating your burger at a barbecue between two leafs romaine starts some conversations. I believe they're left with the thought how hard would it be for me to do that.
Interesting piece thanks for sharing. JP

This is really good advice. I am surrounded by lots of food pusher but that’s what I do by changing the conversation and I just say that I feel good and energetic with my healthy food & intermittent fasting.
And my appearance is louder than my word 😊 so yeah they just stop when I say NO.

I had a cardiologist tell me that fat is bad for your cholesterol and he told me I will have cardiovascular disease. (Talk about imprinting!) I asked him what the brain is made up of and he said cholesterol. Then I ask him what mother's breast milk is made up of, he said cholesterol. I looked at him and told him no wonder why people have health issues when modern medicine has demonized healthy fats being associated with heart disease. I told him before margarine and crappy industrial oils when our grandparents ate all-natural fats and especially animal fats that generation didn't know what disease was. Our brains thrive on fats, it contains 20% of the body's cholesterol. I rest my case.

This is the best and imo only strategy when dealing with these types of people (works for food, politics, etc.).
Agree AND amplify - "You're rght, your probably couldn't. It's very hard and most people can't stick with things" 🤣

What if responding to a remark like"I could never give up bread" would be"what's your favorite type of bread"
