The OG was so ahead of its time that the 2019 version still trying to catch up with it.
there's really no way for new versions to catch up with the old one, not unless a entirely new storyline with never before seen elements is made from scratch.
the song itself is honestly timeless, but the music video could be reinvented to incorporate elements and storyline that would be considered "ahead of its time" in 2023 or whatever, like we already have holographic shows, but they're not that common just yet so holographic elements could be incorporated, space theme could be incorporated in a minimal way, predicted future technology that we are already seeing being made (like foldable screens) could be invented, instead of a train the main character could use a electric scooter or something of the sort that is kinda futuristic, incorporating the elements of todays society in a semi-futuristic style would also be pretty okay as well, not to mention the way the mv could be filmed and produced.
trying to copy and paste the original video is just not enough, if someone makes a new music video for this song then they have to atleast somewhat change things up and make it feel fresh and "ahead of its time" all over again.

I regularly listened to this song on my mp3 player on that very station (Belgrade Vukov Spomenik) while waiting for that same train (It's a Soviet-made trainset designated JŽ-412 in then-Serbia and Montenegro) to New Belgrade on my way back home from the nearby Belgrade University's Faculty of Architecture back in 2003. and 2004. :)

Love how they went with the times in this one. This was my song as a child growing up in the 2000’s. Would beg my mum to play it on the radio in the car. As I got older Game of Thrones was the best thing since sliced bread. Hence Dany and Drogon being featured. Such an awesome song.

Yesterday I suddenly decided to visit the place where this version’s video was filmed while coming back from airport. It is the one and only “metro” station in Belgrade, Serbia near Vukov Spomenik. The place really has its own magic, looks like the time is stopped there and everything has its own parallel flow. To sum up, the right place for this video. To warn you - the escalator is sooo long and high, I felt quite sick locking behind me while going upstairs.

If you were born in the 80's you're not a boomer as in baby boomer if that's what you meant. That generation ended in 1964, you would be either the end of Gen X or the beginning of Millennials (Gen Y) which depending on where you get your information begins and ends somewhere between 1981-1996 or 1984 to 2000. After that though is Gen Z which is where we are now.
