  • Recipe: Inject your chicken with a solution made up of...
    2 sticks of butter = (1/2 lb.)
    1/2 cup water
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. onion powder
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Heat until butter melts (not super hot) then inject!
Rub the outside of the bird with your favorite poultry rub
or Cajun Seasoning......you almost can't use to much!
Cook the bird in 350 degree oil 6 minutes per lb.
Our 9 lb. chicken took us 55 minutes to hit 160 degrees inside.
After we took it in the house it still climbed up to 173 degrees.
Let the bird rest for 20 to 30 minutes then carve.
You will fight over the crunchy skin! Delicious ... Enjoy!

That’s a great fryer I’m actually looking forward to buying the 12gallon because I like the separate compartments

That would be cold outside for sure! There’s plenty of recipes here for you to make till it warms up outside. Thanks for watching! 👍😃

You can still cook in it outside. Put the lid down and let it get up to temp. run out and drop your chicken in. check it 30 minutes later.

Unfortunately Steve passed away December 29th 2018 . We don’t have the fryer any longer. He loved it and used it a lot. Go to. shotgunred1000 and you can see him cooking with it on there also out fishing and in his garden . He also has a video on this channel that is frying fish using this fryer.

Hey My friend ...I have a question for you...When you switch meats do your meat taste like fish?

Steve passed away Dec 29th 2018. As for me it tasted great. Didn't have a fishy taste.😊

I have the same 4 gallon fryer. You can switch meats and the individual tastes are preserved. I frequently cook venison back strap, fish, shrimp, and potatoes back to back without issue.

R&V Works is the brand. It stands for Robert and Vicki. Based in Homer, Louisiana between Shreveport and Monroe. Great man. Great company. Great products. cajunfryer.com. Some of the products are available at Bass Pro shops. Other products are at hardware stores and direct from R&V Works. I own their Cajun Express Smoker and their Cajun Bayou Broiler for several years. Both have stood up to the weather and multiple cooks. Their products are made of steel so I would suggest that you spray them with a heavy duty cooking oil on the outside as preventive maintenance for rust.
