In our first making-of clip about our new triple-bill »White Darkness«, our Senior Ballet Master and Stager Laura Graham, as well as our Principals Kanako Fujimoto and Jón Vallejo reveal some insights into Forsythe's modern classic.
Based on the paradigms of classical ballet, Forsythe designed his choreography influenced by the movement language of neoclassicism and expressive dance, culminating in an ironic twist. The synesthetic work of art experiences further sensual highlights in, among other things, the dance dress designed for the soloist by star designer Issey Miyake and the score arranged by Dutch composer and electronic music specialist Thom Willems.
