Mark has a new album coming out in April. He is now 74 years old and still has it!!!
The guitar is like another Limb to Mr Mark Knopfler. He's a musical genius and is so highly rated. Check out more stuff from this sublime band. Also solo work from Knopfler. And work from John Lilley (bass). This is one of the finest acts to have ever graced our planet. Music for the ages and will still be blasted round the world way after we've all left this land. Mark Knopfler is just incredible as a songwriter. Great reaction.

The story has been the drummer's dad is there and the first time he's seen him live so the drummer is jacked up and fast... Professional as the band was it was "ok fine we'll play to your beat" which is 90% of this show!
Wonderful reaction and you really captured the essence of that performance. Incredibly talented musicians, all enjoying what is an epic performance. The surprise is that Mark Knopfler's guitar didn't actually produce sparks from his lightning speed finger picking!

An underrated guitar player. Very underrated. In the rollingstone magazine where they nominates the best players in the world , it seems he got voted down for not using a guitar pick.. Partly. Of course he is amongst the the great's out there

You know, some live versions are as good or better than the studio version of the song (not many, but some), witness Chicago's live performance of 25 or 6 to 4 at Tanglewood. Others are most definitely not. This live performance is too fast, too slurred, and too ornamented in the wrong way. Go listen to the studio version, it's much better.
Both great!! Studio was in 1979, very short to this and much older in this live version! Or at least think so, Mark is going bald😂😂😂
