  • Eldfjall trail 1 normal mode speedrun.
    Bike used: Pacebreaker
    Section times with self-rating:
▶ S1 - 06.50 🤩 - It took around 1k attempts to finally get a fast bounce like this. The difference between a crash and successful jump feels much like rng, so this section can be a pain to grind sometimes.
▶ S2 - 08.67 😐 - Simple section but the best pacebreaker times on leaderboards are almost half a second faster. Something like 8,3s would be good here but I must first figure out what can I do better.
▶ S3 - 14.38 😐 - The fastest strategy is to jump straight into the checkpoint without touching the cliff in the end, but I couldn't get proper jump today. That probably cost me something like 1-1,5 seconds on this section.
▶ S4 - 15.60 😐 - My goal was to get a sub 15s time, but soon realized that wasn't reality for me today. I failed to find a line smooth enough to maintain the speed properly.
▶ S5 - 15.08 🙂 - On my previous run I used totally different ending, but now I followed the WR route and it proved to be faster. Still lost a second compared to WR, but this is not the easiest section so I'm still happy with the result.
▶ S6 - 12.03 🙂 - My main focus was to just land the jump, because I knew it would be a big improvement from my previous best if I could do it. It wasn't easy but finally managed to get one landing and luckily I could finish the last part without problems.
    (🤩= excellent, 🙂= good, 😐= mediocre, 🙁= poor, 😢= disaster)

I only started playing in Dec 2021, so this may be old news to you, but your S2 is prob best possible for your run. To get down to the 8.3s, I think you'd have to finish S1 and S2 without a crash. I have the current record on S2 on Switch leaderboards, but have not been able to replicate it since I started going for the fastest time on S1. The difference is the momentum you carry into S2 if you complete S1 without crashing. I think it accounts for the .3 seconds you wanted. Given how much time we can shave off S1 with the crash finish, it's worth the .3 seconds we lose on our S2 times. You can safely turn that 😐 to a 🙂
