  • In this video, we'll be installing a solar inverter on our shed and using it to power a one horsepower water pump and a cryptocurrency mining rig. The inverter is a low frequency model that can handle high loads, making it ideal for motors like the water pump. We'll be using a EG4 lithium battery that runs at 48 volts and provides 100 amp hours. To make the connections, we'll be using two gauge wire, though we have some thicker 2/0 wire on hand just in case. We'll also be showing you how to connect the battery to the inverter and use the screen that comes with the inverter.
One thing to note is that we encountered some problems with the lugs we used. The terminal on the inverter was able to handle a 2/0 lug just fine, but the terminal on the battery could only handle a two-gauge lug. This meant we had to modify the two odd lug to fit. In general, it's better to go with a thicker wire rather than a thinner one to avoid problems with too much current passing through the wire and causing it to burn out.
In the future, we plan to input our electrical panel into the inverter so that it can charge the battery using the grid when the solar panels aren't working or it's night time. This will allow us to continue using the inverter and mining cryptocurrency even when the sun isn't shining. Stay tuned for a future update when we install the solar panels.

Very cool. I want to get eg4 solark and panels going. Thought about running a miner on my system as well. How stable has it been? Everything performing well?
