In general‚ they had been mistreated just because of their looks. 2NE1 was promising and on the road of being legendary then‚ and if you are really a decent agency who really cares about your talents - even though the contract ends - you will renew it‚ have it extended for the purpose of career and the agency’s success. As what I’ve remembered recently just today‚ I watched one of Minzy’s confession regarding this issue‚ she was called traitor and had received backlash immediately just because of that‚ even if people did not bother to know the truth behind her desicion.
All in all‚ one never leaves unless one is mistreated or forced to. 2NE1 has been best of friends until now‚ the problem is not them‚ but the YGE itself.

2NE1 were vastly different than other popular girl groups. They weren't bubblegum pop focused, they didn't fit the Korean beauty standards, there was a large age gap between the members (2 of them closing in on their 30s which is "old" in the industry), they didn't wear the same outfits, etc. 2NE1 showed true individuality in both music and fashion. They were talented and the CRUSH album was just the beginning for them. CL even wrote some of the songs. This was also during the time when the male-dominated industry wouldn't even give the pen to a woman. They were in a league of their own! They didn't need to cater to a male audience and do a girly concept with school uniforms to excel. They stayed true to themselves while helping others appreciate their flaws and true inner beauty. The fact that all this crumbled down over an outdated drug scandal that was proven false a couple years prior is fishy. I believe that it was all a plot to keep their influence of empowering women at bay. Yep, the industry is something else...

I was one of the few people who was upset that 2ne1 won over SNSD. I thought it was because SBS Inki x YG friendship. Now as I look back, I am proud of 2NE1 for winning against SNSD & for putting up an entertaining chart competition. I miss them. This win was legendary and unforgettable. They will always be remembered.
