    Good reminder. I've had the pad of a jack slip from under a jack point because the jack's rear casters refused to straighten and hung up. The car abruptly fell and luckily only dented an exhaust pipe a little bit. Since then, I have been hyper aware of making sure the jack is moving freely.

      Thanks for sharing, I had a close call once for me and my dog. I was working under a car I had supported by jackstands on the inner frame rails. The front wheels were up and the rear wheels were on the floor. My German Shepherd had climbed under there with me. The car had an oil leak, so the underbody was prety well saturated. I had neglected to chalk the rear wheels. Suddenly I noticed the oil slick frame rails starting to slide on the jack stands. I rolled out of there with my Sheperd right behind me. We both got out just as the car came down. German Shepards are very intelligent.

      @@richardspaulding5035 Scary! Oh yeah, that's a good reminder, too, about using wheel chocks.
