As Tony says here, the British problem is very different and on a much larger scale. His ideas would be perfect in principle but almost impossible to work here in pracitice. You must remember too that the British population has an ingrained self hatred, especially on the left and any measures itroduced by the government will be mercilessly attacked by certain groups.

Tony did not last long as PM he was ousted by his own party very quickly. he is referred to locally as the 'mad monk' he became PM because there was no one else to choose from at the time. everyone was disenfranchised with both parties. He is a national mockery and i don't think anyone (even those in his own party) give him much credit for anything much. Considering he joined the catholic chuch to become a priest (and didn't stay the distance) i had believed as a 'good christian' he would be very humanitarian. there is nothing about the man that is humanitarian .. to refugees or our own citizens. saying he is sensible is like saying hitler took a practical approach to social issues.

Incorrect,. The channel is easier to deal with. Small boats only - like corvettes. Unlike Australia that had to commit most of its surface fleet to the job. The key ingredient is to intercept at sea and ship them directly for offshore processing in Rwanda. No lawyers at sea. Deterrent maximised via visibility. You could see it happening from the shore line.

He copped all that and much more from the worlds media, the UN, every busy body under the sun, including the bloody awful EU when he stopped the boats in here in Aust. You pick them up mid channel, ship the straight out to a off shore processing centre, South Georgia would be perfect, Britain has plenty of god awful rocks around the globe that the new arrivals can call home. And then you leave them there for about two years, then you offer them five grand if they go home from whence they come, 95% jump at it and off they go. But what’s more important is when the lot in France see where the last lot went for processing, they stop coming instantly.

The truth is our government is SPINELESS it would rather bow down to the fringe stupidity than stand up and do something about a real threat /problem ! I f it did have anything between the legs ,it would kick the police chiefs in the rear end regarding their lack of response in dealing with what's going on with certain protests ,but the police as normal prefer to take easiest route & take photos down or arrest someone for saying something against a terrorist organization ! Quite honestly I'm waiting for the reaction of these fools when SHTF comes and it will ,a woefully under manned and seemingly poorly trained police will be over run and military response will make what has happened in a certain country just recently look tame by comparison . We are on the verge of a disaster !!! MY OPINION ! And no doubt if after anybody has seen fit to defend themselves from said threat the police will arrest them and face prosecution because they should have been a statistic not a survivor . I want the police to be that proud body of folks that were part of our community that stood for something ,not like the authoritarian anti law abiding citizen who foolishly thinks they have a right to freedom of speech !!!The police are more of a threat to us law abiding people than to the threat they should be protecting us from . I have known some great officers over the years and feel sorry for those caught up in the BS ,one I know of just will not go back on the streets again because of this sick ideology infecting the force ,and certain that this is not just the only one who feels frustrated with the system ,it was human rights that caused problems , it tied the hands of law enforcment then Blair turned them into something I'd only seen in certain countries and that was the end of proper policing in the UK !
