Gear a bucketload of torque correctly and you are gonna fly.

MrTheHillfolk your comment is invalid Diesel engines typically run at higher compression due to the larger engines and the need for the fuel to self ignite because Diesel engines do not use spark plugs but rather glow plugs which as the name implies radiate heat rather than produce an electric spark hence the name spark plug which is why despite the difference in compression gas engines of the same displacement will produce more power
