Simply put,
1. Related to your interest otherwise you loose attention/motivation
2. background study or Literature review to find what to do as research GAP to start with and
3. it should be a specific topic not as General/whole topic

1) choose topic from interest area (psychology, mythology, or art form/genre)
2) background study: a lot of work already done : psychoanalytic/shakespeare pov not
3) limit genus: specific not so big
