I loved this video so much. You have a lot of wonderful kits but so far my most favorite is the Snowy Owl & then the Rose Stems is 2nd. I love birds too. The Berry Wreath Welcome is so beautiful. You don't see to many wreaths in counted cross stitch. You inspire me to go and look for my counted cross stitch ones that I bought but have not started. Love your channel.

Just finished a dimension kit from 1985 First Flowers of Spring that I found at a thrift shop. Not much detail but it was fun. Now working on 16 dimensions kit and iso 5 more. Thanks for sharing ❤

You need to start stitching! I have quite a few old kits and am now trying to get them done . I did the Old Teddy one this past summer. I also have that ScenicFarms one. Last year I did Maggy The Mess Maker, check it out, it is really fun. Some of my kits go all the way back to Erica Wilson (crewel), My eyes can only do 14 count now. I did the Angel Of Hope that my daughter had started 25 years ago and didn't have time to finish and the small size drove me crazy.

Thanks for the Dimensions parade. Enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed your Mill Hill kits parades. I too am a huge fan of Dimensions and several classic patterns across its many brands. No birds in my inventory. My favorite (and most expensive Dimensions kit which was my unicorn until I located it last year on the secondary market) is "Soft Sounds of the Orient." It was designed by James Himsworth (my favorite designer) for Dimensions' The Gold Collection and released in 2000. I hope to put my first stitch on it next year as soon as I can get my first Mirabilia ("Gypsy Queen") at least three quarters done. My last big finish - and fully finished is Jean Farrish's "America Land that We Love." It was a two-year labor of love and my therapy during the height of the pandemic and my Mother's terminal illness. This craft has saved me thousands of dollars in therapy. Thanks for your content. Love all your kits. Dimensions kits can be really challenging with all the blended and multiple threads, half stiches, etc. I was going through my wips and realized I have a lot of Dimensions! I bought that stamped kit because I loved the design but I couldn't figure out how to transfer it to cross stitch, so I gave it away. I wish they would make in cross stitch. I'm working on Rocky Point right now, hoping to finish it for my Dad for Christmas. I stitched Horses By the stream a few years ago for my sister and it was a lovely stitch. I noticed they are using white packaging now instead of black

I’m the same as you in loving the art work but not always wanting to stitch it..can’t even begin to choose a favourite but winters hush is exquisite..it may have to be purchased sometime. Just happened to find your floss tube by chance. You have a very impressive collection. I have never completed a Dimension kit. I have purchased from a thrift store but never completed it. I love doing samplers. I really like some of the kits, especially the black dog with the birds on his back. Also like the Berry Wreath and Seaside Retreat. I can see how you can get hooked on collecting! You have a sweet personality which made time fly by! Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed each and every moment of this kit parade. I have done the painting of the cove with the Victorian house and have been very tempted to stitch the kit. It does seem like those kits are of the same house. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

If I compared the amount of cross stitch charts to what I've actually stitched Id have to say I'm more of a chart collector. In recent years I have purchased some kits I've found on destash. Definitely intend to stitch at some point. Love all yours, never stop doing what makes you happy.

It is so beautiful. I may have to start it for next Christmas. I’m currently doing a Mill Hill kit (Winter Glow) for this Christmas. Idk why, but I’m attracted to a lot of blue, silver, and white for Christmas. I did all the Traditional colors when my kids were little, so am wanting a change! Lovely video❤

I think every stitcher should at least stitch one Dimensions kit just like you should stitch at least one Phillipina or Miribalia. Lol. If you xan conquer these designers, consider yourself an experienced stitcher. Haven't gotten there yet, but I have purchased a pattern or two of these. Wow, so many to stitch, where to start😵💫 I've stitched the chickadees and pinecones - its stunning! The picture does not do it justice. Also stitched Chair with Flowers. I'm in the process of stitching Love Birds. I must admit I am not enjoying this one, thus the reason it is still a wip after so many years. I have to stay at it in order for my eyes/brain to get used to the chart. I have decided to stop where the branch ends and not complete the bottom with the initials. I am only at the birds, UGH and haven't done any backstitching.
My all time favorite is Scenic Farm. I bought it when first released, started it and put it away and forgot about it for years. Only discovered it a few year ago, finished it and won Best In Show at our local fair 2 years ago. It is stunning when complete. The next one I want to start is Winter Geese. It's geese flying over a snow covered corn field with a beautiful red barn in the background. Can't wait to have it as a complement to Scenic Farm.
I enjoyed your parade and love me a good Dimensions kit. I agree the old stockings were more detailed. I stitched 2 of those for my niece and nephew - a labor of love !

Ruth here, l did the coffee shop and the Holiday tree farm, l still like em, not to hard but that stamped one to me looks like a nightmare to figure out the back stitch, l have done a little stamped stitching, l looked at the picture a lot to help me

I know this video was posted a month ago but I happen to come across it today while stitching. I love Dimensions also and have enjoyed your parade. If you ever get to the great lakes of Michigan there are some beautiful lighthouses to tour. We love lighthouses and am actually stitching one for my husband. But I wanted to suggest to you that if you want to get some of these kits finished but may not have time yourself have you thought about hiring a stitcher to do some for you? I have been model stitcher for years and people hire me to finish their projects for many reasons. Maybe they don't have the time, arthritis, vision is not good or they just don't know how to stitch but would love something stitched that they saw. Just thought I'd pass that on to you. There are many stitches out there that do this besides myself. Thank you for your parade!

@@calico_whimsy it makes me feel good that they can still enjoy the finished stitched. About four years ago a young lady asked me to stitched two dimensions stockings. One for her husband and one for her, she doesn't stitch herself. Well this past year they were going to welcome their first child in October and she asked me to stitch h one for him. I'm waiting, lol, for her to ask me to do another someday for child #2. The lighthouse I'm stitching for my husband is the Dimensions Rocky Point but I need to show him the Northern Lights kit since he would love to be up north when the sky is full of the beautiful Northern Lights.

Wow! What a great collection. I am new to Dimensions kits, although not new to cross stitch. I have a couple questions and hope you can help me out. What is the difference between Dimensions and Dimensions “Gold.” Do you ever buy linen to replace the Aida? I’m not opposed to Aida but I purchased “A Treasured Time” and if I did my math correctly I only have 1.5” boarder. That scares me when it come time to frame it. (I hope I live long enough to have it framed! Haha) and the last question, do u ever convert to the floss DMC? I’m so afraid I’m going to run out or have to frog and run out. Great video and I also watched your Mill Hill video. I have done a few mill Hill’s but don’t have the lovely collection you have. Thank you for your help. Happy New Year!
Hello!
Regular Dimensions kits have less detail and less colors in some cases. They are usually on 14 count aida and have less backstitching and usually have lots of half stitches. They still turn out so beautifully despite being easier to stitch.
The Gold kits are usually on 18 count aida and a lot of times are almost full coverage. They have lots more colors with more intricate backstitching, a mixture of half and full cross stitches with some specialty stitches like couching, french knots, etc. They sometimes have specialty threads like metallic and blending blending filament as well. They are very involved, but oh so worth it!
Many people have swapped out the fabric in the kits with no problem. I recommend keeping the fabric count the same to obtain the same effect.
There are conversion charts out there for Dimensions-DMC, but I have not personally swapped a while kit. I'm sure the result would be ever so slightly different, but still beautiful. I've subbed DMC only when a kit has run out of floss and it was not noticeable at all with the colors I used.
