Sharleen Spiteri is one powerhouse scot who reinvented her band in 90s from pop rock to pop soul
1 of my all time favourite bands, their biggest succes was mid to late 90s even performing 1 of their songs with wu tang clan. Definitely in my opinion 1 of the most underrated bands of all time.
Amidst all the raging pop house music of that era, it was refershing to hear them.

Texas have never made a bad track. I particularly like 'In Demand', 'Summer Son' and 'Halo'. I recommend their Greatest Hits album on Spotify to everyone :)

Texas is the UK most popular band...everybody knows it for more than 30 years and each one or two years, they are touring in all the biggest concert halls in all the french towns...not so easy for a foreign band to get such a success in France...❤

Oh there is a massive treasure trove of Texas music to discover! I recommend checking out these live performances! I have seen them live a few times and they are the best ever! Sharleen is incredible. She is friends with Madonna and even played before M's Brixton Academy show.

I remember this song from this new Scottish group at the time that I really liked and that I was discovering.
A little later I bought their album "Southside" on cassette but also the second album from 1991: Mothers Heaven.
I like the album version (or long version) that we find on the CD because the intro and the instrumental break are longer and I think you should like it Dereck you who like synths, keyboards but which lasts 5 minutes all the same!😉😆
Sometimes certain radio stations in France play this version (like on RFM) even if the 45 RPM version is more suitable for the airwaves.
Their group name comes from the film "Paris, Texas" by Wim Wenders. They chose to keep Texas as their group name.
But I have a lot more in mind (even if I really like "I Don'T Want A Lover"), their song "Everyday Now" (my favorite after their first single) released the same year 1989, quite different from the first because it's more of a "ballad" but very "American" in the western, blues, soul sense, moreover the videoclip was shot in the USA and it seems to me to be in Louisiana given the landscape if I'm not mistaken.
Another very good single from this first album that I also love: "Prayer For You", also released at the end of 1989 when I was in middle school in 6th Grade which I always remember musically, with always this "western", country and blues side with images also of America.
Also very interesting songs in the 90's like "Alone With You" in 1992 but especially "Say What You Want" and "Black Eyed Boy" in 1997 are really good!
Haven't heard them since a long time but their hit song still sounds great. They had a series of hits in the late 80s and early 90s.
