My question is how the hell did 41 people thumbs down this...??????? The dude built a mill, cut a tree down, slabbed it, dried it and turned it into a table. Matt, dude you rock. Screw those people!!!!!!!!
I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan czcams.com/users/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!
When I was a kid growing up in Milwaukee, WI back in the 1950's the Dutch Elm disease took out literally hundreds of Elm trees. We had a very large Elm tree in front of our house that was taken down and replaced with a Maple tree. This bar top turned out beautiful.
That thing is stunning! I know it always looks different when you add the finish, but wow...did that grain really come alive!
Crosman used a lot of Elm to build stocks for many of the Airguns made in the 60's and 70's. Beautiful wood!!
Love how the grain came to life with the finish.
I never get tired of seeing the grain pop out when you put the finish on Matt
It always amazes me when you pour the finish on - Its just like magic that all that color and grain and beauty just comes up out of the wood.
You must have a different type of elm than we have here in Connecticut. Our grows in a very twisted and coarse grain.
Rewatching, we have a 150 year old elm felled last month. It’s about 4’ - 5’ in diameter. I have a portable sawmill scheduled but the trunk(with multiple crotch) is to large. I haven’t found anyone around that can handle it. Your Mill could handle it with no problem. I can’t wait to get this baby slabbed, the bar top turned out beautiful.👍🌳
Sometimes the simple projects are the best projects. That's a beautiful countertop. Well done, sir.
The underside is really beautiful on its own but, when flipped over and the finish is applied the show side is absolutely gorgeous !
Nice video! I would love to see more videos of builds for finished products like this.
Beautiful job it’s a pleasure watching a Cressman work
thank you so much for your channel.!!! I'm learning a TON from you. As a CZcams content creator i understand how challenging it is to make videos AND do the job. looking forward to digging through your many amazing videos!
The subjects covered in this woodworking website t.co/z6o0f8z2H4 varies from wood types to tool types and uses. A few other subjects range from the various kinds of wood along with their distinct levels of difficulty when it comes to managing them. If you are still a beginner in wood working, then you will find this book very beneficial.
Looks awesome, Elm is one of my favorite woods to finish.
That Elm does have a unique grain and color .
Great project, Matt, and beautiful result. Well done!
That is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the build. I enjoyed watching you enjoy building the bar top.
Gorgeous, Matt. Those larger cut-offs from the beginning might make some great accessories for the bar top. Like shallow carved bowls or trays. Or cheese boards.
Beautiful bar top, Matt. It was nice seeing a project video from you on CZcams! Thanks for sharing it with us!
It must be quite a thrill to have your first project complete the journey from tree to sawmill to finished product.
Another beautiful piece Matt! It would be really cool to see it once it is installed. Keep up the awesome work.
Well done Matthew. I'm inspired to try my own bar top now.
Beautiful, I had a customer that I built kitchen cabinets for out of Elm. Amazing.
Looks awesome!! I may need to get myself some elm!
Perfection personified...and really beautiful.
If I lived closer I would pick up some of your cuts for a project I need to work on.
That is an awesome looking piece and regardless of the overload I still have serious jointer envy
Matthew the bar top came out beautiful wow I love it all that pretty wood grain. Thanks be blessed.
That's beautiful wood Matt!
Looks fantastic Matt!
Beautiful piece, beautiful wood.
Nice video as usual. It crossed my mind on all your videos but I would like to compliment you on how well edited these are for keeping up viewer interest. I don't have any direct experience but that can't be easy.
Absolutely beautiful bar top! Great job, thanks for sharing
Elm - my absolute favourite wood. Relatively easy to get hold of here in the North West of Scotland too!
Beautiful. You make it look simple.

Awesome brother! That elm is nicer than I thought it would be👍
Wow Matt that's one of the best bar tops I've ever seen great job brother.

Resin is becoming very fashionable
Matthew Cremona, Love seeing what happens with this beautiful wood! Mesmerizing! Really appreciate your videos! I am pea green with envy!
Work of art!
Stunning piece. Whadda bar top!
As soon as you poured the finish on the top side I hit the back button and full screened it. Daaaaaaaaaamn I said, that is nice. I watch that part 3 times.
Looks beautiful Matt! 👍
Oh man, I had no idea Elm was so beautiful.
Matt Cremona is the most "crotch-ity" woodworker I've seen...that is some beautiful wood brother.
Simple things are often impressive.
Awesome video, I always learn something from your wood working videos. Thanks for sharing.
Looks awesome mate, well done...
Aug. 20th 2018 an elm tree that was 28 feet around in my front yard had to be cut down. The guy said he thinks it was about 150 years old. The wood is magnificent I wish I had a way to slab it out. I’ll get as much as I can for table tops or carving. It was a wonderful shady friend for so long and a home for hundreds of birds and squirrels over the years. I’ll sure miss it. Maybe some of her wood can live on. I’d love to send you a picture.
Matthew, truly, I have so much to learn from you. I am ashamed to say, I have many power tools, some large ones too, but only a vague knowledge of how to use them, and it's pretty much the same with the wood. I need some tool set up and use lessons and will be going through your vids looking for them. (my 6 inch jointer needs set up I am sure...
Great Video and really Beautiful Wok..!
This is great, good craftsmanship.
It's nice when you can make something simple look very elegant.
Great work, Matt. That orbital sander is a beast! My sander takes a few decades to knock down a fairly thin layer of epoxy.
Great looking bar top nice work.
Achingly beautiful. Good work
Nice work youngman.
Congratulations.
From Dublin . Rep of Ireland
super nice bar top, great job man
I've always thought Elm trees wasn't good for anything. You have proven me wrong. Looks good, I'll have to keep this in mind when I get a sawmill. Enjoyed the video, keep up the good.
No dubt this is a beautiful tabletop Matt. Nice work!
Wow, that's a stunning piece of wood. I have to do something similar for my Financial Advisor in a couple of weeks time, but with Australian Jarrah. I will be using the router sled method.
Just gorgeous Matt!!! Love it Love it Love it.....
That is cool to make your first project from bandmill lumber! It looks great, love the color and grain of that elm. Do you sand in and wipe off excess when you use arm-r-seal?
MAN THAT,S SOME GREAT WORK AND THAT ELM IS JUST BREATHLESS MAN I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A BASS GUITAR BODY MADE OF ELM LIKE THAT GREAT VIDEO LEARNED A LOT THANKS.
Nice artwork!
Gorgeous!
One would think that a large company would supply you with all the tools needed to get the advertisement.
You really do a great job on the projects and the videos.
Nice job Matt.
When i first saw the thumbnail i thought it said "Elm Crotch Baron" and i thought "yeah, thats about right."
ha ha...yes!
On my screen it was cropped to look like "Im Crotch Barto" -- And I wondered why Mr. and Mrs. Barto named their poor kid "Crotch."
